Local Sections on SC... Should we get rid of them?

I introduced the local sections a few months ago.

I however feel that these sections weren't a huge success. I'm also worried that some people post their local finding in there instead of in the general deals and flyers section and a lot of us end up missing these deals.

I'm therefore thinking of shutting down these sections.

Thoughts?

I like the local sections. In the Moncton sections there have been a few times when a good item was in the clearence at our local Wal-Mart or SDM that was store specific and it allowed me to go there and get it before it was gone!

I was also able to meet up with someone from Moncton that's on SC so that is a bonus!

I like the local section. The St.Catharines-Niagara forum has given notice of some great local deals. I check out that forum daily!

I like the local section. I use it quite often to address my Regina peeps. The only thing I would like to change about them is, I wish we could expire our own posts if/when needed. I have started most of the threads in our Regina tab and would like to expire some of them!

they don't apply to me right now but even when I lived in Quebec, I never used it.

I like them! I know they are often used for setting up get togethers for members in that area.

Also maybe since spring and summer is on the way they may get a lot more use, with people clearing things out they don't need, and more local concerts, fairs etc to post about.

I thought I would use it more but I must admit I rarely go there. I always forget or I just get my info. from the main deals thread.

**I just went to the Quebec section to check it out and there is very little activity and some cities have no input at all.

Never knew it was there. If I miss a deal thank God my house has to much stuff now.

I use it all the time! It's great for finding coupons locally and also setting up coffee exchanges without cluttering up the other sections. I vote keep!!!

i love that section... its not as busy as the regular forum.. but its nice to no if your looking for something specific in your area you can ask.. or also finding good deals close by.. ASWELL as meeting the fellow SC near you

I like them, I find some great local deals. If everyone had where they live on there profile that shows on each thread I think it woudn't be used as much.

me too!! I love the Edmonton secyion, got lots of local deals that way!
