I'd be careful, as far as I know US only mean US only. Make sure your location is set correctly in your profile.
Just a heads up because I've heard of people being banned for various reasons and I don't want you to be!
Even if the hit is not blocked off to to me, if it says they only want US turkers I self police and stay away from them.

But how did you even set your location to Canada?? Amazon payments has no option to put in a Canadian address. I've even emailed them about it. I must be missing something there, because I don't see any other location to enter an address or location on mturk.
If a HIT requires a US location, I don't do it- as in if it specifies in the HIT, "You must be in the US to do this HIT". By default, most HITs say "Location is US" at the top, that doesn't exclude us from doing them.
Often they'll have the US location requirement, and then ask you in the HIT which country you live in (ie. surveys). I've yet to have one rejected for being located in Canada. Most HITs have that stipulation because they want first language English workers, and a great number of those using the site are in India.
For the ContentGalore HITs, I enter my email, and it ends in .ca < clearly Canadian.

I'll pass. I don't totally understand what HITS are and looks like tedious work like pay to clicks are. It is like 1 cent per task for the majority.

Kris, it's mindless work that you can do while watching tv. Some may only be worth 1 - 5 cents, but you can usually bang out 10 of them per minute. I am close to $200 now $191!

I had this problem a few weeks ago, but I eventually got it sorted it out. Your problem is that you can't have an Amazon payments account if you're living in Canada. What you need to do is transfer all of your money in your Amazon payments account to your Amazon.com giftcard balance. Then you need to send a message to Amazon payments customer support asking them to close your account. After that is done (make sure ALL your money is out first) then the next time you sign into mturk a screen will come up telling you to verify your address. Type in your correct canadian address and you'll be good to go.
If what you're doing is working for you, keep doing that, but just out of curiousity, what address do you have in your Amazon payments account? I just worry about you getting banned!
That would suck. What you're describing is wrong, the hits that say Location is US should be off limits to you, they are to me. Don't worry though, there are LOTS of hits that are open to canadians. Sometimes there are even hits ONLY for canadians.
PM me if you need help or check out www.turkernation.com. I've read too many stories of people being banned for various things on mturk I don't want that to happen to you!

I'm up to $164 since July 9th. The thing bout mturk is, it's work, but I don't mind that. It's nothing like ptc. I don't do the 1 cent HITs, they're so not worth the effort or the risk of a rejection.
When I log on, I look for high paying HITs- sometimes you'll luck out and find a legit $5 HIT. There's a lot of surveys- they pay anywhere from 5 cents to a couple of bucks.
HITs are basically jobs that you're being hired for.Last edited by iAmBrendaLee; Sat, Aug 14th, 2010 at 07:31 PM.

Well unfortunately for us canucks, the only way to get paid on mturk is through Amazon giftcards. For this you don't need an Amazon payments account, you just go to the account settings tab on your dashboard and click transfer your earnings to your Amazon.com gift card balance. For this the only thing you need is an Amazon.com account.
The only way to cash out real money on mturk I guess for you would be if you had a US bank account.
Just wondering, have you tried to cash anything out yet?
