It varies and depends on who the requester was... but through my experience if I don't get paid by that night for work that's been approved it 99.9% of the time shows up as "paid" the very next morning. Hope that helps!

You're welcome! Yea if you click on the day under the account page and see a green PAID.. that means the money is available to you. A simpler way to check to see what money is available to you is by clicking Account Settings. On that page you'll see "Current Balance" on the bottom. Your money earned will only show up there after it has been officially paid to you, while the approved payment pending won't.

ok, I must be losing my mind - somewhere today I found a thread something like "fun surveys to do" - it was amazon turk related, and I thought it was at turk nation, but I can't find it - that's where I found out about the Eli Rosenberg task - people would post good survey type things to do as they discovered them

does anyone know where I might have read that thread? I should have bookmarked it, darn it!

ETA: nevermind, I found it! LOL

how do you check what the requester has written about you?I did 7 tasks for retaildata but cannot do any more. Is it because the requester didnt find my work good enough? How do I find out if that is so?

There's really no way to check on mturk why they chose to deny you but if you go the "your account" page and scroll down to "your hit status" click the date you did those hits and you'll open up a page of every single hit you did that day... all you have to do then is click on the requesters name and it'll open up a message box so you can contact them and try to find out that way.

If they didn't reject any of your work you won't be affected at all when you go to do other requesters hits. A lot of requesters need you to become qualified to do their hits, some it's a basic test for others it's just based on your location or your percentage and number of hits of hits approved. Right now if you're just starting out I would focus on the quick easy hits that take a few seconds to do that way you'll get your hits submitted and approved numbers way up there as well as your percentage approved. This will open the door to many other hits in the future. Also try to keep your hit approval rating above 95% as you can as this will lead to quick acceptance when you request a qualification for a hit. If you pay attention and do the work asked, (disregarding retaildata because people have had a lot of trouble with them) You should be able to keep your approval rating above 95% no problem. Right now I have a hit approval rating of 99.9% with 51,723 approved hits and only 61 rejected. So if I can do it I know anyone can do it haha.

If you lose any of those retaildata qualifications, don't feel bad about it. Those are very random, and just about no one keeps them for very long. I'm sure there's a reason RD does them that way. I would still take the time to do a few here and there on the odd chance you get their "Trusted Qual" << that's the one you really want. It allows you to work on their big batches of "Does this product belong in this category" HITs. They're the big money makers.

Even some who have the Trusted Qual got the same email about "average work", and they've been doing RD HITs for months. It didn't affect their main qualification.

I've heard about retail data doing that to people but I've personally never had a problem with them myself. I think I've made about $2,000 from them alone. But I do have that trusted qual you were talking about... I looked it up and there's only 103 of us that do.

I'm from the U.S. so I use a family members in the states address still for amazon. This allows me to do contentgalore. The other nice thing is that I can withdraw my money from amazon payments to my bank of america card, and I can just pull the money out at any scotia bank up here. Really helpful as mturk at the moment is my only source of income.

My dashboard shows 2 "abandoned" - now, it's possible when I first started, that while nosing around, I may have accepted a hit but changed my mind (though I don't think I did), and it was sitting at 1 for several days, but today it says 2, and I KNOW I didn't accept a hit last night and leave it - I DID "view a hit" (but didn't click "accept") - does that count as abandonment too?

    I'm up to $1.07 - I submitted 8 and all 8 were approved

ETA - ok, now I see on my account that I accepted 10 and submitted 8

that would account for the abandonment - I may have abandoned 1, but definitely not 2, unless just viewing a hit (but not accepting) and leaving counts as abandoning? though I'm sure I've viewed quite a few hits and didn't accept them, not just 2
