No a hit has to be first accepted by you for it to be counted as abandoned if you don't finish it within the time allowed. No way can a hit affect you're rates if you're just simply viewing them.

huh...well that's odd that it shows 2nd one - it appeared overnight...I even checked after I viewed a few hits, and it was at 1, and this morning it was at 2

I'm going to be extra careful now...if it jumps to 3 I'll be peeved LOL

I would go back through your dates to see if maybe you had accepted one but never finished it before it expired.

A few abandoned HITs are nothing to worry about, at all. I've never actually "abandoned" one (who would?), but sometimes they just happen. I have 29 abandoned with over 12,000 submitted.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster. lol

I think, eventually, your account will be in jeopardy if your address is US-based, and you're only turking from a Canadian IP.

No never had a problem. They don't look at the IP they look at your contact information on amazon. I've tested that theory by changing it to be able to do it hit for only Germany a while back and sure enough it works. Additionally you could use a proxy server if you were that worried.

Additionally my account is already verified and approved when I had to send my SSN and for tax purposes... so if they were to do anything about that it would have been then.

it does show 10 accepted, and 8 submitted - but I KNOW I didn't accept and not submit twice - MAYBE once when I first started, but not twice

I wish it showed the specific hits that were abandoned so I would know where I must have gone wrong

I wouldn't worry about it too much though... here's my ratings.. as long as you keep your numbers accepted and approved high none of the rest really matter.

    holy cow LOL

but with only 8 submitted and 10 accepted, that's a pretty high ratio of abandoned hits

I'm not even going to click to "view a hit" unless I plan on accepting it! LOL

Right now given the numbers yes, just do more hits and those percentages will be in your favor!

I just did 3 hits for Dolores Labs - when I finished one, I would click "accept" to do the next one, and "accept" again to do the next - I don't want to do any more right now - do I just click to go back to the main hit page? or do I click "skip hit"? I don't want any more abandons on my account, and I'm concerned that this may be where I'm going wrong...

After you get tired of Dolores (trust me we all do ) just dont accept the next one...and close the window its that simple, it wont affect you at all.

Also, if you're unsure about missed/abandoned etc. just go under HITs tab and click on "Hits assigned to you" and you'll see which HITs you've accepted for the moment (you can accept 10 at a time)

thanks! I opened another tab and checked Hits Assigned to You, and there's nothing there, so then I closed the Dolores tab

I better not see another abandonment in the morning or I'll be peeved! LOL

I was a little annoyed with the Dolores task - I had to look up store hours, and had to look up several Radio Shack ones - they all had the hours listed except for one store, it said to call for hours - so that's what I checked off on the hit page - and it said it was wrong, and gave me the url where the hours were supposedly listed - but that was the same url I was looking at, and it said to call

that dropped my accuracy rate down, and I know my answer was right! there's a spot where you can give an explanation, and I told them my answer was right, but I doubt my accuracy rate will be fixed

Don't sweat it with the Dolores tasks...their tasks are usually hard and underpaid which is why I avoid all of them except the sentiments ones...those ones are pretty easy. I usually start off with 100% accuracy and then go down to 85...but the one good thing about them is even if you supposedly get questions wrong they still pay you for every task.
