Luckily, Patrick is able to walk to the ambulance under her own power. Michael McDowell and Robby Gordon transfer into the Daytona 500.
was watching the replay of what happened to danica. boy did that hit hurt. amirola slide down, knocked her off the track & they both went flying across the infield, unfortunately danica's car slammed against the infield wall & broke into pieces. they did show how she took her hands off the wheel to let the car stir so she didn't break any wrists or arms when it hit the wall. she's going to be sore.
the 2nd 125 is under way
Pre-Race: Greg Biffle, who qualified second for the Daytona 500, will start first in the second 150-mile qualifying race. Casey Mears, Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr. and Mark Martin roll off second through fifth. Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne are sixth through tenth.
Lap 1 -- GREEN : The race gets going at 4:08 p.m. ET. Greg Biffle and Casey Mears lead the charge into Turn 1. The two lanes remain side by side until Turn 3, when Biffle clears.
4:07 p.m. ET -- Also going to the rear of the field are Clint Bowyer (qualifying time disallowed) and Bill Elliott (engine).
Lap 3 -- Matt Kenseth makes a move to the outside in fourth place, but he's not making a lot of progress ... yet.
Lap 2 -- Greg Biffle is in the lead, but it's two- and three-wide behind him.
Lap 5 -- Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson are now first and second, with Greg Biffle third. J.J. Yeley is off the pace.
Lap 4 -- Jimmie Johnson is pushing Matt Kenseth on the outside line, and Kenseth takes the lead at the stripe.
Lap 8 -- J.J. Yeley and David Reutimann have gone to the garage.
Lap 7 -- Fourth-place Martin Truex Jr. and fifth-place Joey Logano are the first cars side by side.
Lap 14 -- Tony Raines has gone to the garage. Joey Logano and Kyle Busch roar to the top of the leaderboard.
Lap 12 -- The top-10 cars are separated by less than half a second.
Lap 17 -- Matt Kenseth takes a look to the outside in Turn 4, but second-place Kyle Busch slams the door on him.
Lap 16 -- Elliott Sadler nearly loses control between Turns 1 and 2, but he keeps going without incident.
Lap 18 -- Kyle Busch scoots into the lead, but his teammate Joey Logano can't follow.
