i always liked Carl, but must say that I lost a lot of respect for him when he took out Keselowski. That was pretty irresponsible at 200 mph

From what I could find, the two had a run in in Kansas in a Nationwide race in 2007. The two weeks later in Martinsville in Sprint Cup, Carl's brakes were going away and he was behind Matt, and kept hitting him going into the corners.. Matt moved over, let him pass and then dumped him.. Carl did not take it well apparently and threw a fake punch at Kenseth when Matt was being interviewed..

Can't quite remember all of it but it went on for quite a while starting with a wreck at Daytona or Talladega that Carl was part of, then a few more until Matt had enough and I think he spun Carl at Martinsville. That's when Carl faked the punch.
here's a story from 2007

I went to Michigan in 2008 with Great Canadian. It wasn't terrible but I wouldn't do it again. The tour guide would not shut up for the entire trip. You couldn't read, sleep or even carry on a proper conversation with your seat mate. The hotel was well over an hour away from the track and was not close to anything and the restaurant in it was awful. I had to walk through a pretty skanky looking neighborhood to get some snacks and pop. The "tailgate party" they said was included with the trip was process cheese & balogna sandwiches with a bag of doritos and a pop. I was traveling as a single and it was so NOT worth the price I paid.
But the track was great and while we were there we had a great time and my fellow travelers were all fun and nice people.
For this "Have Bus" trip I looked at Talledega. A single is $1,250 for 2 nights and the ticket. I think not.
I prefer to drive myself now, and this year I'm hoping to borrow my sister's RV and camp right at the track. (Talledega or Charlotte OR maybe both!)
I am looking for a traveling companion!!

If anyone was thinking of going to Watkins Glen in August they have a great deal "All-You-Can-Eat and a Reserved Seat" - $75.

Last year I stayed at Robert Treman State park. I had a wonderful little cabin in a beautiful park, about a 1/2 drive from the track and it cost me only $190 for the week.
Now that's a bargain holiday!

OK, I'm stirred up... I can't believe I have to say this to a guy, but boys will be boys! Carl was just blowing off steam and better he do it to Matt's face than his fender. I love all the Roush boys, but Matt can be a diva sometimes, too. Calling Carl 'dangerous' is a tad harsh. He has a temper, he's no longer afraid to show it, and admit it - the drama is half the reason we watch NASCAR! For cryin' out loud how long ago was that on-camera incident and you said yourself it would stir things up. NASCAR (and football) are men's versions of soap operas thanks to the grudges and rivalries.
I hope none of you get your feathers ruffled about what might be said in this forum...

Nope, I gained respect for Carl when he took out Brad - and fortunately no one was hurt but Carl picked the right moment. I believe Carl was sincere that he did not mean to get Brad airborn. It's just racin'! However, I'm sure Carl knows to expect retaliation from Brad in the future.

Thanks for both of those, raccoon. However, I don't think BF Goodrich would be interested in a photo of my 2001 minivan
