I expect a great performance out of the #9 Budweiser team this weekend now that they've announced Kasey will be leaving!

Bar showed qualifying . Didn't miss a thang . Now I got a couple pitchers beer in me, a fridge full of Sleeman's tallboys and a full slate o'hockey on Life is good.
WooHoo Smoke on the poll. I actually thought Kasey would suck. Wind outta the sails syndrome and they sucked first part of practice. But they picked it up. I really hoped that Kasey would have stayed with RPM. I really love The King and want to see the organization succeed and thought Kasey was the perfect driver for him. Oh well. Talk is Kasey may join Stewart-Haas as a third team next year (Hendrick's backing!), any thoughts?

what do you think about kasey becoming the next hendricks driver? will be sorry to see mark go, but considering he was suppose to retire a few years back, he's done well.

I really haven't been paying attention to Nascar this year, so I didn't know Kasey was going to Hendricks. I was getting bored with Jimmie Johnston always winning, so I haven't watched in a while. I'll get back into it this weekend. I actually like Kasey. Where will Mark go?

I was there too! That was one very wet weekend.
We left on Monday afternoon because I had to work on Tuesday. I was sooooo mad!


I went to Martinsville in 2008 - it rained on the Friday and so qualifying was a bust. I still have red Martinsville mud on the running shoes I wore that day.

Then last year when I went to Watkins Glen it rained on the Sunday so the cup race got moved to Monday.

I seem to be a NASCAR jinx. Consider this fair warning to you all - I expect to go to either Talledega or Charlotte (or maybe even both) in October. So if you have plans to go too, you better bring your rain gear!

I went to Michigan in August 2003. I haven't been back since, as my dad died that Saturday morning - as a result of the blackout. (He'd had a heart attack, but since it was his 5th one the hospital could not give him the drugs he needed to stop it unless they could perform the proper tests. With the hospital being on generator power only the lab was down so it was a Catch 22 situation.) I was on my way to a Dale Jarrett fan club event when my brother called me with the news. I was in such shock I contined to the event with my husband. We had been planning the trip with my MIL and daughter and they were visiting the local zoo at the time. We spent so much money for that weekend, so with my mom's blessing the hubby and I went to the race the next day we but had to leave early to make it to the funeral in time as it was on Monday. As we were driving away from the track, listening to the race on the radio, we heard that DJ was in the lead and I thought 'If ever there was a race I wish DJ would not win, it would be this one!' He didn't, of course. So, it's taken this long for me to feel ready to return.

Their customer service dept has kept in touch and they do a great job of it. They sent me a card of congratulations, signed by several people, after I emailed them back in 2004 to let them know we wouldn't be making it that year as I'd just had my son. They treat their Canadian fans very well and we really felt appreciated and I am looking forward to finally returning!
