Thread: Rubbermaid or Ziploc?
-
Wed, Apr 7th, 2010, 09:07 PM #1Expired
Hey,
I am stuck between Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids and Ziploc Snap n' Seal containers. Ziploc is cheaper and more affordable, but at the same time Rubbermaid seems to be more durable...
I wonder if they are really microwavable and freezable?
I know Ziploc is BPA free, but am not certain about Rubbermaid.
So which should I get, Rubbermaid or Ziploc?
I'd like to hear suggestions/ experiences/ opinions about the two.

I prefer the rubbermaid ones, definitely sturdier and better quality, they go on sale often, so keep your eyes peeled

EASY FINDS!!! My tupperware has been neat and tidy for the first time ever, and has stayed this way for months now!

Rubbermaid easy find lid containers are neat because they fit inside each other and you can store the lids by snapping them on the bottoms of the containers. They do become VERY fragile when frozen - I have lost a few to shattering. Can't vouch for ziploc but I am happy with my Rubbermaids over all.

The Rubbermaid Easy Find are BPA free, (the fancy clear ones with black lids are not). Aren't there printable coupons for the Rubbermaid out there somewhere?

Thanks for your replies! It looks like I will be getting Rubbermaid after all. I saw the new Walmart flyer today and found a 40 piece set of Rubbermaid easy find lids with 2 bonus take-a-long containers for sale, at the price of 19.97$. What an awesome deal!!!

I personally prefer the quality of Tupperware. Has lifetime guarantee and I know it's safe. But, it is costly - but, you get what you pay for. Whenever I've bought the cheap ones they get all disformed and you get rid of them and buy new ones and low and behold, you've spent just as much as 1 good one. (And nope, don't sell it :-D lol).

Personally I prefer glass containers(we just switched over). I think our older ones are ziplock and i wasn't a big fan.

I have and use Tup, RM, and Zip - also Lock ‘n Lock. Love Tup (used to sell it) but not all the stuff is bpa-free (the rock n’ store are not, and I have packed away about a doz pieces). The Zip I use because I need certain sizes I can’t find in the other companies. I like the LnL, but they are not stackable so take up lots of space. Now I mostly buy and use the RM. Love how they stack. However, I have had a couple of containers leak.

On Boxing Day I bought the Rubbermaid 40pc set (i think it was) for $15 at WM & just love it! They stack really nice & don't take up alot of room...have used them in microwave with no problems! I like the red lids as they match the red dishes I got for Xmas too, lol
I think RCSS has the sets on sale this coming week...I keep telling my mom to get a set as she has a mis-match of a bunch of stuff that the lids don't fit! LOLSuperPoints! Join up! https://www.superpoints.com/join/vM_...vT88H3WJziuiqM
