Thread: Trip to LD - nighmare

I went to LD this afternoon armed with my coupons. Normally I only have problems with one cashier, I saw her so I went to another checkout. The lady proceeded to tell me that stacking is not allowed. I explained that it was as long as the coupons were different. I ended up getting out the e-mail from head office that states stacking is allowed. She still insisted on going to customer services, who told her the same as I told her. But she took ages and I ended up with a huge number of people behind me - ground please swallow me up at this point. Finally when she totalled it up I thought the amount seemed high, but after all the bother I just wanted to pay and get out. When I got to my car I realised that she had not taken off two of the $5.99 coupons, I think I will try a different LD next time. Anyway this is what I got:
14 x pledge multi surface = 14 x $5.99 = 83.86, I paid 11.98 (12 free 2 paid for)
1 x kashi bars $3.99 - FPC = Free
Total savings $75.87
A good deal but I really don't think it was worth the humiliation.
PS The items are going into baskets I will be giving to one of the local charities for Christmas. This thread is currently associated with: London Drugs

I've experienced something simular before, it's a pain. Which LD did you go to? I don't think regular cashiers are always made aware of the stacking policy....too bad because I'm sure they could save a ton with their employee discount.

Sorry to hear that.
If I get a snippy cashier, I'm always sweet as can be...and sarcastic as hell. And I always make a point of turning around to the line piling up behind me and telling them that I'm sorry to delay them, but the cashier is having trouble following the store's policies correctly.

edit: of course, I also have a pair of brass ones on me. LOL.Last edited by screamy; Wed, Sep 30th, 2009 at 08:34 PM.

Have you tried calling the store manager about this? If that doesn't work call head office they have policies to follow.

I always go through customer service desk when I do my stacking...never at the regular cashier line. I was asked to do this months ago as it is easier for the CS desk to deal with you and not hold up the regular cash lines.
I would definitely complain to the Store Manager!

At least the good experiences outweigh the negatives ... and with the amount of SC'ers out there, we will teach them ... LOL!
... I'm earning $5-25 Amazon.ca gift cards EVERY month, are you?
P.S. ... starting to hunt for ShoppingChannel GC's with no minimum purchase ...

Kill them with kindness, always the best policy. I go to customer service, and today I even told her it would take awhile, so would she please call over someone else? And then let someone with only one item go first. Sorry you were so embarrassed...good luck next time!!

She took the coupons but didn't take the price of your bill? You should've went to customer service. Or call in the morning and say you went over your receipt. The coupons would be in her cashout.
