    If you want a program that is just as good if not better than Photoshop the you need to try this one for Free, Never any cost associated with this software. http://www.gimp.org/

    I'd suggest, if you don't want to pay the price for photoshop, to try photoshop elements, its only $70 at costco, and it has everything a beginner would ever need.

    I'm not a huge fan of gimp, it doesn't have everything I need.
