Since January 1st 2010 I have spend on taxes and product out of my pocket at Shopper's $367.93
I've had two cash outs of $200 so a total of $400.00
Here are my totals for points earned on my actual cash out of pocket ($367.93)
Regular points 5730 (over 1/3 of my way to a plus member again)
Cashout given back for plus member 10,000 + 10,000=20,000
Friend event 5000(mine)
Smartcanucks 4500(not sure exact on friend event)
Friends 3= 15,000
Credit Card Bonus 10,434
Bonus points$ store bonus points 56,860
Total of all those=117,524
Now consider I'm a plus member and you will know every 1000 points is worth $3.07 to moi so 117,524x$3.07=$360.80 coming back
$367.93-$360.80=$7.13 cents outta pocket
You get the points on regular coupons so they add towards your plus membership as well as I only shop on 20X points days or cashouts I only buy sale items. Example neutrogena 14 day wrinkle repair regular $36.99 was in the reduced yesterday with an exp in May 2011 for $2 each. Got 4 of them and they will make marvelous gifts for my friends for xmas. You need to grab the deals when they are there. It wasn't a 20x but I'd went in for that 3+1 Purex laudry on for $6.99- $2 coupon plus the prinatble B1 get 500 points as well as the instore get 10X the points and stumbled upon the neutogena. Also got some of that great dove oil cream on reduced for $2 and used my B2 get $2off as well as B2 dove printable get 1500 extra points. It just becomes that easy. I know I'm rambling but I was just checking to see how I was progressing towards my plus membership so started adding up the points on the bottom of each receipt.
I still have 3 available cashouts ready to go as well
Forgot to mention I always pay off my credit card monthy so no interest charges, WIN/WINThis thread is currently associated with: Shoppers Drug MartLast edited by Melody113; Thu, Apr 29th, 2010 at 08:58 AM.

I am sort of confused. How do you get money back ($3 per thousand points)? and how do you know if you are a plus member yet?

I posted in the Shoppers "is it really worth it" thread what my totals were for this year.
Since Jan 1, I have spent about $549 out of pocket. I cashed out twice on bonus redemption day (I'm Plus), so I calculate that I have received $949 of product for $549. I have about as many points now as I did on Jan 1st, so an even comparison. I don't calculate the points (325=$1) against the product value as then I couldn't say my bonus redemption was "free". I just look at the entire total of what I have spent and what have received.
I just got a Shoppers Mastercard this year so 15,000 of those points came from the first purchase bonus. The only other thing I have used it for is to buy Shoppers gift cards (great tip!). I am also over 10,000 points already towards Plus status for next year (I never thought I would attain that this year with the increase!) I actually added mine up to more, so will have to recheck that against the website and perhaps make a phone call.
I have never bought perfumes or cosmetics, mostly just grocery items I would normally use (don't use that many prepackaged, so that limits it, only a few coupons, also don't buy milk) at my self-determined rock bottom prices, and once for contact lens solution for son-cheaper than anywhere else by far on sale. I'm sure I have never paid full price for anything at Shoppers! If they hadn't added the grocery department I know I would not have done so well. For the most part, all my purchases are made on bonus points days.
Since last summer when I started reading here and figured out how to maximize points (still wasn't doing the giftcard thing then) I was able to reach plus status and cash out twice for a Wii and accessories last November.
I think it rather amazing for a woefully overpriced store!

I also have a shoppers mastercard and pay it off right away so I have no interest. It is a win-win situation.
