I completely agree with this. I went in on a visitor's pass and looked at prices of everything I regularly buy. The way I shop, I wouldn't save much money there. I can see how some of my friends (who don't meal plan/shop flyers/use coupons/etc) would save money in that setting, but it just wouldn't be beneficial for my family.

Has anyone priced eggs at Costco? Someone told me they were a good deal but they couldn't remember the price. I generally wait until they go on sale at SDM and stock up.
Hubby has promised to take me on a 'Costco' date night and let me look to my hearts content!! What a man!
I did get in there for a quick second yesterday and noticed that their berries seemed to be priced low. The raspberries were $3.49 for 340g and the blueberries were $4.99 for a pretty large container (I forgot to look at the size). I would say that it was 2 or 3 times the size of the ones at SS. I know that they are on 2/$4 @ On the Vine until tonight.
Has anyone done meat comparions yet? I usually just buy the %30 off stuff at SS and freeze it but I noticed at Costco their pkg of Lean Ground beef was about $15 for a HUGE chunk! It looked to be about 4/5lbs to me.... :SLast edited by AudiMama; Mon, Jun 28th, 2010 at 08:24 AM.

SDM still has them beat when they are on sale for 1.50 or 2.00 for 12. I believe the 18 eggs I bought at Costco a few weeks ago were 3.47 (I THINK). SDM didn't have a sale that week so it was still better than your regular Sobeys price.
We took the whole family to browse the aisles on Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too bad, even with all the kids. The kids gorged on every sample going, but we spent an hour and a half price shopping.

The eggs are cheaper at SDM when they are on sale
As for the meat it's more than what we are used to spending but it's REALLY good!!! We bought a pack of steaks a couple of weeks ago and were planning on cutting them up and freezing them but we ended up going to the inlaws for supper and that was the end of the steaks, lol.....We are thinking that we may just once in awhile buy a couple packs of meat and split the packs for numerous meals.
