So I am relocating to Toronto..and need some pointers for good apartment rental websites to check out?

What a reasonable price to pay for 2 bedroom apartment is, in a decent area, etc. I was raised in toronto, so I have somewhat of an idea of neighbourhoods.

    Thanks.

Thanks looking at that one, it's really specific with areas too.

Yippee! Another victim, er, participant in our meets.

Prices vary wildly, depending on area & whether or not they're considered trendy.

Do you have an idea of where you want to live? Downtown? Suburbs? West end? East end? It makes a huge difference, pricewise.

My tiny studio is in a hip neighbourhood (Distillery) & last I heard my downstairs neighbour was asking $1200. My friend lives in North York & her 2 bdrm was going for $2800, but it has direct access to the subway & is literally on top of a mall.

For those prices you'd be better off just buying a house! I was looking at $1500-$1800 with utilities included preferably.

I was looking at some decently priced ones in cabbagetown online tonight. My bf is going to be wokring in downtown, as long as it's on the subway line it's cool. Ideally it would be downtown, but there are lots of nice places around too. My family lives in Etobicoke and that's on the subway line, so accessible and I lived in North York before too!

Yep, that's why we're both happy we bought our condos when we did.

I'm a 10 minute walk south of Cabbagetown.

Do you know why it was originally called Cabbagetown? Used to be the place that immigrants lived, who dared to grow veggies in their front yard.

I love the beaches area it's so nice, but super expensive probably, or Queen St West. In any case, I am really excited about moving out of crappy Kitchener cause Toronto always felt like home to be and it's got a lot more going on.

That's so funny, I've got a friend who actually wants to move to Kitchener. lol

Guess everyone needs a change in scenery.

Good luck with the hunt. How soon are you looking to move here?

Bf is starting a job in July.... sometime to figure it out, no rush, it will just commute for the first bit. I only moved to KW to go to school and that ended, a while ago.

For 1500-1800 you can find a nice 2 bedroom near the subway in the midtown area, if you are looking for an apartment. There are a lot around Eglinton and south along Yonge, but below Bloor they are usually pricier.

Actually, I am pretty sure I saw a couple of 2 bedrooms advertised on my street the other day, I'll check tonight where they are listed.

I would be of absolute no help or else I'd chime in. I only work in the city but live on the Scarborough/Pickering border... far, far away from the subway line.
Add me on twitter and I'll add you back! Just mention you are from SC!

    Thanks.

I would prefer no basements. I want something sunny, would love a backyard/deck/balcony townhouse.
