Romaine isn't lettuce...latest no coupon excuse

Tried to use the B1Hormel Bacon Bits, get one lettuce for free at Garden Basket in Markham. The cashier informed me that I could not use the coupon as romaine is not lettuce.
Should have moved to another cashier aisle in the first place as this cashier is a total pain (and slow as well). If anyone from Garden Basket is on this site, please take note.
Tried a couple of times to explain that romaine is indeed a type of lettuce but she wasn't budging. Although I am a calm, easy-going type, inside I was fuming at the ignorance. Think I maybe even said a bad word under my breath.
