Thread: Fast cake

Wed, Jul 14th, 2010, 05:52 PM #1
Got a call this morn for a cake needed for 4pm, but I had a bunch of stuff to do today.
Got home at 2pm and threw this together
YES I saw there was a mistake in "birtday" so I fixed it and disposed of the mistake accordingly....YUM!
Just forgot to take another pic.

Vanilla cake with Vanilla Buttercream icing and ALL decorations are in CHOCOLATE..yes COLORED CHOCOLATE!
The lady who requested it was delighted as the sneaker looked like the pair she had bought for her boyfriend. (She had sent me a photo.)
It was kinda hard working in this heat as everything kept trying to melt so I would do a bit and put it in the fridge...take it out, do a bit more and put it back in. Surprised I got it done in under 2 hours (baking included).

If you still have a chance to fix it, you may want to change the spelling of "Birthday"!

That is incredibly fast. I looked at the pic and didn't notice the mistake until it was pointed out hopefully can still be fixed

Very nice cake. Is this your business? Are you able to run it from home? If yes, you're very lucky. In Toronto, if you're going to prepare any food sold to people, it must be prepared/made in an industrial/professional kitchen!
Since you got to eat the mistake, tell is at least how it tasted

Wow! When I "throw" something together - it never looks like that! I'm sure any of my friends would tell you about my "Gray" jello which was supposed to be a green and red Christmas potluck donation. (I HAD to take it - I had nothing else to take and I knew they'd understand.......or at least have a great story to tell for the rest of my life!!!)
You have a definite talent and I hope you are able to turn this into a small business for yourself! - Buttercream icing.....YUM!
