Also always copyshortcut the freebie link and paste it into a new window. If they backtrack and find out you came from a freebie forum they wont send freebies.
Really???? Why is that? Sorry but that seems like total BS to me! Why does it matter where you found out from? And how do they backtrack exactly?

Sites can tell what site directed you to them. They care because lots of people mindlessly order freebies and dont even care to ever use them etc.

Thanks Sally. Do you know how they do this exactly? If I click on link how exactly do they know where it came from?

Care to expand on this? As an HONEST former postal employee, I have never ever stolen anything out of the system, and neither has any colleague I've worked with. Yes there are bad apples out there, as with any other company and sector, but the vast majority of postal workers would never risk our jobs, pay and pensions over breaking the law, let alone over something as trivial as a freebie.

Agreed, the chance of losing your job over stealing some freebies is really lame.

Also people who steal tend to believe that everyone does it in order to feel ok about doing it - Not everyone steals and not all Postal workers steal - that's why they said it (the friend - not lynn)

My opinion if you're not getting your freebies it's either they weren't sent out by the company or they were mistakenly given to someone else on the mailman's route.

I used to clean at the post office here and you wouldn't believe the mail and packages I would have access to and it never crossed my mind to touch any of it. Boxes and boxes just sitting there from Dell, etc. I also wouldn't want someone to steal my non-discript package with my ummm "toys" that I ordered.

Yup, I go to certain sites and on the bottom of the page there is a list that says something like: Sites that have linked to us are, and it would list like a hundred sites that have sent traffic to them and it keeps updating. So if you clicked on a link at a known freebie site which this site is. There is a good chance you won't get anything at all bc often people just like getting freebies and have no intention of getting the freebie to see if they might like it for future purchase.

It's true about tracking programs. I use Google Analytics to find out who looks at my online portfolio after sending out resumes. Can tell me what pages they look at, for how long, what city they are in, whether they use mac or pc, what browser they use and even what service provider they have. Returning visitor vs new visitor...on and on. Very detailed info. It's quite cool. And it can send me daily or weekly updates to my email...never under estimate the power of the computer! (or the people who write these programs) LOL!

I used to have an amazing postal worker. He used to do a few things that were not in his job description, like gathering the letters that needed to be mailed from some of my elderly & disabled neighbours.

Then we had a series of different workers when he went on sick leave, some friendly, some not, some efficient, some not so much. We now have a worker who delivers mail to maybe 1/4 of the building at a time. I've seen him get about 20 flyer bundles out & put them in random boxes, so I may get a flyer, I may not. Sometimes he'll do the same thing the next day, but usually not.

Most of my neighbours don't care that they're not getting flyers (), but I've pointed out how odd it is when the person with the box beside mine has a flyer bundle & I don't, if I happen to meet up with them at the mailbox. As for reporting things to Canada Post, suffice to say that not getting flyers is very low on their list of priorities (can you imagine??? ).

I suppose I'm lucky in that I haven't had too many things go missing, although I have had bills come at the 11th hour.

Like people in all jobs, you always have to have one bad apple that tarnishes everyone else's reputation.
