Strawberry Pie
--------------
2 c water - divided
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 drops red food colouring
3 level Tbsp cornstarch
3 oz package strawberry jello
fresh strawberries, sliced
2 baked 9" pie shells
Mix 1 cup water with sugar in saucepan. Add food colouring, and bring to a boil.
In a cup, mix cornstarch with 1 cup water, then add to sugar mixture in pan; whisk together and cook until thickened.
Remove pan from heat; add jello powder and mix well.
Let cool.
Place strawberries in pie shell, pour syrup over. Refrigerate.
Can serve with whipped cream.

Butter Tarts
------------
Makes about 15 large tarts
Soak 1/2 cup raisins in hot water about 15 minutes ahead of time...

In saucepan -
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 egg
1/2 t vanilla
pinch salt
Heat together just to melting.
Squeeze out raisins; divide amongst tart shells.
Pour syrup over.
Bake at 350 degrees about 12-15 minutes
