Shoppers Drug Mart's Invite-a-friend event is happening again!

Earn up to 88,000 Shoppers Optimum points (8000 per friend) when you invite up to 10 friends between August 9-13, 2010.

Fine print:

*Shoppers Optimum Bonus Points are issued according to the net pretax purchase total of eligible products after redemptions and discounts and before taxes using a valid Shoppers Optimum Card®. Excludes prescription purchases, Shoppers Optimum® Mastercard® points, products that contain codeine, non-pointable items, tobacco products (where applicable), lottery tickets, stamps, transit tickets and passes, event tickets, gift cards, prepaid card products and Shoppers Home Healthcare® locations. Offer applies to photofinishing services that are picked up and paid for on Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10, Wednesday, August 11, Thursday, August 12 or Friday, August 13, 2010. Not to be used in conjunction with any other Shoppers Optimum Points® promotions or offers. A maximum of 8,000 bonus points will be awarded to the registrant that shops and makes a one–time purchase of $30 or more on Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10, Wednesday, August 11, Thursday, August 12 or Friday, August 13, 2010. An additional 8,000 bonus points will be awarded to the registrant for each direct referral that registers and makes a purchase of $30 or more on Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10, Wednesday, August 11, Thursday, August 12 or Friday, August 13, 2010 to a maximum of 88,000 bonus points for ten (10) direct referrals. A maximum of 88,000 bonus points will be awarded per registrant. Registrant must shop and spend $30 or more to be eligible to receive referral bonus points. Both the registrant and referral must register online before shopping and spending $30 or more at Shoppers Drug Mart on Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10, Wednesday, August 11, Thursday, August 12 or Friday, August 13, 2010 in order to receive the bonus points. The additional points will be awarded to the registrant's account by August 21, 2010.

DO NOT sign up for the event on your own if you want to join a SC group.

FYI:

Groups of 10 members + 1 group leader will be created. After SDM awards points on Aug 21, group leaders will distribute the group points they receive evenly amongst all group members WHO SHOP.

To receive points, you must spend $30 before tax AND AFTER COUPONS OR REDEMPTIONS on eligible items on a single transaction during Aug 9-13.

**Retain your SDM receipt to prove you've shopped.**

Yes, some lovely people on SC organized the last few SC groups for Refer and Friend and both times I participated worked out great. So long as everyone on the "team" does their purchases properly, there's no hassle. a few people had to call in to SDM HO to fix some issues but other than that things were fine. I'm guessing one of those fine organizers will start something now that this thread it up with the details.

You would only get 88 000 points if you directly referred 10 people who spend $30 each. If the groups are arranged like chains, you will only receive 8000 points (less if the points are divided so the last person on the chain can also receive points).
