I have 2 of them. Both were wedding presents. One was from Sears and one from Walmart. That was five years ago though......

There are kinda cool. I didn't know either until I received it as a gift. You can make waffles in it, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc

Yup they are great .. especially for making grilled cheese sandwiches as the cheese melts right in to it ...if you make a toast & then put cheese on it ( block cheese not cheese slices ) it doesn't really melt

I also find them much faster to make sandwiches than toasters

If you can't find one new, I'd check out Value Village. There always seem to be a ton of them for around $5.

First time seeing it too. I guess they are not very popular anymore, hence, why they are hard to find.

Try ordering online from London Drugs. I think they will ship anywhere in Canada. They currently have a Salton sandwich maker for $17.99. Don't know what shipping would be.
If you go to the London Drugs website and search for "sandwich" there are several options to choose from. I have found that LD has one of the best selections for kitchen appliances around.
