I was off to walmart today to pick up some new born diapers that are on sale for $11.. and the box of wipes for $10...we are expecting in October but wanted to start getting my stock pile ready. Anyway, purchasing a whole bunch of other stuff and doing some price matching.
I got what must have been a brand new cashier, and she was have trouble with the price matching and coupons I was giving her way. I Must have confused her and she ended up taking my two coupons for $5 off when you buy pampers and wipes,,, but when I looked at my receipt at home she forgot to charge me for the wipes. I know this is great for me cause they are like $10 each (she missed 2) but I don't want her to get introuble because she took a coupon that said both diapers and wipes must be purchased.
I will go back tomorrow and let them know they didn't charge me but I was thinking what would get her into more trouble? Not charging a customer for two items or taking a coupon that didn't qualify.
Any cashiers that can let me know what would get her the least amount of greif???

How about you just go in and buy the 2 wipes without mentioning anything to anyone ( which she missed ) & maybe donate them to a shelter or something ..so it will be like WM donated them ( indirectly )
...so no one gets into trouble .
In the end you will end up paying the same amount you should have paid in the first place , plus the cashier might not get into trouble too .

Call the manager and explain the situation.
I did, cashier deducted extra $10+ on my bill, only realized it when I got home. Manager did not even asked the cashier's name, he basically told me not to worry about it.
Hope that helps!

^ agreed....everyone makes mistakes from time to time. If it was a $100 mistake, I could see her getting a bit of flack, but a $10-20 mistake....not the end of the world. Unless the manager is a total douche.
gone shopping!

It all depends on if the manager is a jerk or not. At my store I wouldn't get in trouble for that, but they'd point it out to me and then I'd say "oh, sorry" and end of story.

I don't think they will ever notice that you didn't buy items that the coupons were for. The coupons aren't put with each individual sale.

Go see the CSR people at the front of the store and show them the receipt, explain the situation (that she was new, etc.) and pay for them. You'll feel better, and it should help keep her out of trouble.
And good for you for 'fessing up - I had a similar sort of Zellers issue with an SPC card a while back, and, while they didn't take me up on my offer to reimburse them, I felt a lot better having offered.

LOL - I walked out of Zellers with a bra that wasn't paid for - she forgot to charge me. Fortunately, I caught it walking out the door and took it back to pay for it...I think they get frazzled some days. We all do.

Good on you for doing the right thing. The guilt makes it hard to enjoy the good deals.
I was going to say that the cashier wouldn't have got in trouble because they don't put the coupons with the receipts. So they would never have know that she forgot the wipes or used the incorrect coupons.

I got a free sheet set $70 value at Walmart. I got out to my car and realized the cashier had voided the sheets instead of an item that she had trouble ringing through a coupon for. I went back fully intended to pay for it but said I should get a discount for being honest
. They did not make me pay for it but in turn I think the cashier got in a lot of trouble so I felt really bad. I should have just went home and they would have been none the wiser.
