Sounds in posts - possible or just annoying?

I just saw some sounds that could be used same way as "smileys"
ex. whip crack, "i've gotta get me one of these" ....some were fun
Could something like that be used here ?
Would it just irritate everyone?

I have my computer on mute most of the time because I can't handle computer generated noise...

I love smilies..but wouldn't want them to make noise.

Me too - still do sometimes if I think the laptop is muted and I happen upon a site with one of those stupid things! Scares the heck out of me!
