Thread: Milk, eggs, and bread at SDM!!!

I just have to post about this one...

Was at SDM with my MIL yesterday at just the right time...
Some of the products were nearing their exp. date so I got
the following:
4 x Dempsters white Smart Bread - @ .25 each
Best before date - Dec. 3/09 - I plan to freeze them
(maybe use them for stuffing the turkey!)
3 x Dozen Large Eggs @ .50 each
Best before date - Dec. 4/09 - Plan to use for baking Christmas goodies
I was going to use my coupons for the Smart bread but thought I might
be pushing it since it would have given me money back...
Just need to find butter on sale and I'll have it made....lol
Also I used my optimum card for the regular deal of milk for $2.97
so all in all I got
4 Loaves of Bread
3 Dozen Eggs
Bag of 2% Milk
for
$5.47This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

Great deal on stale bread for stuffing!
I almost always buy eggs for 50c - $1 at SDM
They don't go bad the second the due date hits and we eat a lot of omelettes (made with leftover anything) and egg salad sandwiches when I get overstocked. I'll buy up to six dozen eggs on clearance price.
It drives me absolutely crazy to pay full price.
Great deal on the milk too, it must be a local deal, I never get it cheap like that

Wow, just the milk alone would have been over $6 here. Good shopping!

Is milk usually only $2.97 at SDM?? Do I get it for that just for showing my SDM optimum card?

Isn't it great getting bread for such a great price. Last night I picked up 10 loaves of Country Harvest bread for 3.90. It is on for 1.39 at Zehrs this week. Perfect timing as I just received 19-1.00 coupons in a trade.

Great prices!

Metro has Lactancia butters (salted, unsalted etc.) on 3/$10 but since I don't do a lot of baking I don't know if this is a really good deal or not.

Gaylea spreadables 2 for $4 (or 1 for $2) at Loblaws this week, can be used with $.75 coupon. So it's only $2.50 per lb, pretty cheap for butter, if you like these spreadables.
