Ok...My family and I were "volunteered" to do toy shopping this year for some of the kids whose families are receiving Christmas baskets from our church. Makes sense as we have kids, and we know what kids like, and so forth. Of course, there's a limit, $10.00 per child....not including tax. I was a little stressed...It's hard enough shopping for my own kids...never mind others especially 16. But I was up for the challenge.
This Friday past, we walked into a Walmart in Laval. Headed straight for the toys section and ....JACKPOT!!! There were Perfection games at $10, Strawberry Shortcake playsets $10.00, Trivia Pursuit $10.00, Tinker bell sets $10.00, Cabbage patch babies $10.00...and soooo much more. We got most of the shopping done at that particular Walmart, and the best part?? there was change!!! woohoo!! We still needed 3 gifts for older kids. So I checked in the walmart near my house this past weekend, to only find out that this walmart was nothing like the one in Laval. Which was kind of puzzling. We found the 3 other gifts, which were not on speacial.. (I had even asked 2 store clerks why they didn't have specials like in Laval. I was told it was up to the manager??!!) But it (the shopping) was all complete! Our church was relieved to know that the shopping was taken care of, and that we actually had change!!!
But shouldn't all walmarts have at least the same specials throughout their stores??
other than that...a very successful shopping trip....and not even for me!!!

Great job! Nothing like spreading a little Christmas cheer to the less fortunate.

Too bad you didn't have any of those $10 Mattel coupons.. then there would have been lots of change!

It is my understanding that Walmart looks at the demographics of an area and puts things on sale accordingly. Thus you can definatly get different deals at different Walmarts.
