Thread: My new glasses

It was time for new glasses. So my hunt for the least expensive frames and lenses was on. I do not need to wear my glasses a lot so I wanted to find the best price. I tried Clearly Contacts, and after 3 pairs from them I realized I had to go to an optical store. (I did have really good service from CC. All their frames made me look cross-eyed!) I checked out a high end optical store in the WEM and found a pair of OGI frames there. They wanted $260 bucks for the frame alone and another $195 for the lenses! So I had them write the frame style down and I took that information to my local optical store. I asked them to see if they could order them. And they could. They came back with a price of $163!! Their single vision lenses with coatings are $124. So when I am done I will have saved 200 bucks! We only have $150 of coverage from our medical plan, so the less I pay out of pocket the better. And I am able to support one of our small town businesses.

I've been in need of new glasses for well over a year
I need special lenses, so I'm up nearer the $500 range, unfortunately, and just haven't been able to afford them. Husband's insurance just covers the eye exam, not glasses.

Awesome brag!! If anyone else is looking for glasses and an eye exam, PM me and I'll refer you to a mystery shopping company. I've noticed some lately that pay you between $120-$250 to do a shop. So if u already have insurance paying for the glasses then you just made $250 for filling in an online survey!
I have saved over $1320 with coupons since Dec 30/10! (+ at least another 700 in sales!)

Oh, just for future reference, I have had GREAT experiences with LBW eyewear (online site). My glasses broke, and I needed some new ones desperately, as I'm basically blind, and don't like to wear my contacts all the time. I got 2 pairs that were almost identical to my old ones for only $50, including the shipping. :D
