    Hi everyone,

Today I managed to use the save $9 WUB 3 Olay body wash at walmart. The cashier denied the coupon saying because the total value for the body wash($2.77 each) is less than $9, so she can't apply the coupon. No body wash for me. Is that how it work in wal-mart? shouldn't it be free for those three product?
Ahh, any help will be appreciate.

If anything I think they should have at least adjusted the coupon $2.77x3= $8.31 instead of $9. This is what most of my stores would do!

You did buy other things with it right? Anyways, If the coupons are a few cents more than the total cost of the product(s) I always do the math in my head first, so in case they say, "I can't take this coupon because it's more than the cost of the products," I would be ready to counter with..."Just enter the coupon for $8.31, the total of the three body washes." I've had alot of cashiers say "oh okay, that makes sense." Some snarkier ones have said "Well, aren't you clever." lol But I find sometimes this works. Don't put them on the spot to do the math. I don't like being put on the spot to add or subtract or multiply something quick either. Anyways, give it try with another cashier.

I did...I told her to just enter w/e those body wash cost. And I did buy other stuff like Chewy bar other stuff. The lady just say no she can't do it. I even asked another cashier if this policy is valid. " Ya, that's how it works. Total amount shouldn't be more than the value of the items. "

I asked this on another thread, the coupon states that there is a portion of taxes included in the face value of the coupon, in ON with tax the bw come up to 3.13$ each so 9.39$ for all 3, the coupon should be ok to use imo, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'll be attempting this later on today

WM is usually good at taking the full value or at least adjusting the coupon, I've never had any issue there. Talk to a manager perhaps, this looks like a case of a misinformed cashier...

I never asked for a coupon to be adjusted, would be too much of a headache for the redemption company

I don't have this coupon. Read the find print. Does it say that you have to pay tax? If the amount of product(s) plus tax is greater than the coupon value, you can use the full value of coupon. This is what I point out to the cashier. That's when they pull out their calculator, lol.

    Hit and miss...

This is why I try to get just over the $9 or just below. More often, just over. I did an $8.97 at RCSS ($5.99 razor, $1.59 travel satin care, $1.39 travel secret deod). As with any other coupon... a few times I've been turned down on trying to use a coupon that is more than the price of the item(s). In Zellers coupon policy (yes, I realize you were not shopping there) it STATES that you can't be using a coupon higher than the price of item... and it DOES make sense, to me.

I'd rather pay "fifty cents" for a bunch of things I want, than pay nothing AND walk away with nothing.

I absolutely agree with this!! I have only used coupons where the product is a penny less than the coupon. And they will always adjust or just enter the coupons, because most stores sell things for .99, 1.99, etc, not 1.00, 2.00, etc. I used 6 of the 1$ on any Vim at Pharmaplus yesterday where they were .99. The cashier was MORE than nice. She simply had to ask a manager because she personally had never had it happen. 3 people told her "just enter .99" Not a problem at all.

It states a portion for taxes is included in the face value, so its good to use

My WM (including the CS manager) always refuses to adjust coupon value downward, and won't accept coupons if the value exceeds the price of the product. I just take my WM flyer to another store (usually LD) that will price match and happily adjust the coupon value.

I hope you have some luck with trying again - it sounds like other WM's are more flexible than the one near me!
