Hello, everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a lurker here for about 6 months, and finally joined today. I'm from the US (please don't hate me, LOL) and am married and have 2 little girls.

I've been voting for everyone in the contests, and I've been addicted to P&P for over a year now. Anyway, hopefully I can contribute words soon.

OMG...they're just coming out of the woodwork, aren't they?

Of course US members are always welcome here...just don't say anything aboot our accents.

We may need to start a US/Canadian translation dictionary for our new friends.

And yes there is a Timmies on every corner....in Ontario. I was surprised how rare they are out in the western provinces.

I tried to go post a comment and vote on everybody's adorable and unique pets (What a variety!)
but FC is sooooo slow loading because I use dial-up that it's nearly impossible. I'll keep trying though......

OnMomofThree, thanks for listing the Candyland stuff!! Yes, Tim Hortons are very rare in the Western Provinces, but A&W has an acceptable cup of coffee, not nearly as good as Timmie's, but best we found when there are no Tim Hortons. A&W's in Ontario have classic car show nites during the summer, something to do with Kids & Grandparents on a sunny summer's eve, take them to see some of the old cars and its free! But remember to check the weather, the Classic Car entrants will not take their old cars out in the rain.

Welcome to all our U.S. friends.
Timmies to us is the equivalent of Krispy Kreme to a lot of Americans. I'll never forget the first time I ever tried Krispy Kreme was when I brought some back to my hotel room in Orlando. All the night staff were drooling and offering us help if we couldn't eat them all. Wow, are those things sweet, so they lucked out. Needless to say we had the best service ever at that hotel the rest of the week.

and yes it's true about A&W coffee..it's really really good!

and don't blame dwan for her links not working, other ppl are having probs as well (i'm not yet). i've emailed the ass.mod and she is forwarding the info to the tech dept. i also complained about how hard the site is to navigate and vote. but she's not buying it ..oh well!

I am originally from the states (Moved here to marry hubby) and I think Krispy Kreme donuts are gross! lol... so sweet, but I am not very big on sweets most of the time
