Thanks, NS! I should really try freezing stuff.
It seems like almost every afternoon, I am peeling and mincing garlic, peeling ang slicing onions, chopping tomatoes, peeling and slicing ginger, you probably get the idea, lol.
Hey, one of you should start a thread on freezer bags in the Canadian Product Reviews subforum.
I read somewhere you can also freeze soup stock/broth for later use. Let's say you did not use tupperware but used ziploc bag instead, how do you thaw it then? Thaw it in the fridge? Cut the bag up and dunk the ice soup in the pan? Nuke the bag? which I doubt, lol.
I just ordered goosebumps - monster blood for my son for xmas..hopefully its not to scary, hes gonna be 7 but loves scary movies..might have to watch it first to see...lol
I buy garlic in bulk and then put through the food processor with a little bit of oil. it minces the garlic super small and i put it in a tupperware on the door of the freezer. i use it daily for pastas or rice or whatever needs garlic. its really easy that way.
as fr the broths, i do it too with chicken broth. i freeze it in tupperwares but my mom puts in a ziploc and then when she needs to thaw it there are two ways. either she will pull it out and put in a bowl until it thaws on the counter if in a rush she will put it in warm water and it will thaw out completely too. i wouldnt cut the bag.

i got more probs with ryan. stupid stuff. they had to pull him out of class because all he wants to do is hum, make noises and torment the other kids on purpose. they refuse to play with him at recess, he stands there looking like an idiot. he (because of his ODD) is emotionally immature for his age. he gets along better with 8 year olds than 11's. so no wonder the kids don't want to bother with him.
so i donno what to do. and he's lying to his teacher/vice principal, and i can see me having to walk this kid to/from school everyday. i have a half a mind to go pick him up afterschool, cause i'm sure he's gonna cause $hit on the way home.
thoughts? suggestions? arsenic?

Effect of Freezing on Spices and Seasonings
Why do you think I ended up here?? I lurked on about 25 other sites before making it my main one. Then I liked it so much that I had to join.
- Pepper , cloves, garlic, green pepper, imitation vanilla and some herbs tend to get strong and bitter.
Onion and paprika change flavor during freezing.
Celery seasonings become stronger.
Curry develop a musty off-flavor.
Salt loses flavor and has the tendency to increase rancidity of any item containing fat.
When using seasonings and spices, season lightly before freezing, and add additional seasonings when reheating or serving.
Cheese tends to mold faster when it is handled. Try holding it by the outside of the wrapper or holding it with a paper towel. Also cheese is still good when it is moldy-just cut off the mold. Sometimes and rinse and pat dry the block after I cut the mold off.
You all generally have the words first, and were a pretty funny group(even before I came around--LOL!!)
Well, since he likes huka, I have an idea. You can say it's just short for Highly Unique Kitty Aphena
They say to never thaw at room temp. Bacteria starts mutiplying before it thaws completely. If you need it right away, thaw in sink of warm water(I change the water several times)and cook right away or thaw in microwave. If you don't need it right away, it's best to thaw in the fridge. Keep in mind that it takes a good while. A lot of things can go straight from freezer to oven or microwave.
