OK-here is my latest rant to P&P...
I sent a message previously(last night) but the information you posted today makes the situation even worse.
Why would anyone report the unlimited voting? You were supposed to have unlimited comments(as with previous contests)and that was not true. So, it's really the same thing. 50 points each..what did it matter if it was votes or comments??? Then you make the announcement that the comments were changed to 10...we were only getting credit for 5. Remember that points for comments were supposed to be unlimited??? ok, so you change the rules in the middle of the contest, and I no longer got unlimited votes or unlimited comments. It was aggravating, but whatever. We all knew it was coming. We all already know that every contest you have is screwed up. That's a given. To actually go back and take points out of people's accounts was uncalled for. Like I said before, it was bad enough that the unlimited comments didn't work, and worse that you changed the rules in the middle instead of fixing it. We never got unlimited 50 point comments, didn't see you rushing in to fix that. I guess it's easier to just change the rules. There are a plethora of people still waiting on points owed from the recipe contest and the back to school contest. Have you got a rush order in on fixing that???
Now, with your latest announcement you are threatening to suspend accounts??? Is the only reformation here when it's in your favor?? If you think that the 5000 point word you gave out during the last contest even began to make up for points lost because of that "bug", you are mistaken. You have taken minimal accountability for all the "bugs" that happened to go in your favor.
I guess this is what happens, since you are the "point givers" and hold that power. It is abused.
I am more certain than ever now about contacting a lawyer, since reading your latest posted message. Now I am also feeling the need to start contacting your advertising sponsors, just to inform them exactly how things are handled on this site.
Needless to say, I am sorely disappointed in your management of this issue. I haven't heard back about the message I sent yesterday, but I don't really expect to. I and thousands of online friends already know that the odds are about 1 in 100 on receiving a response.
As you can tell, I'm not about to drop this. Like I said before, justice is priceless, and you have pushed me well beyond my tolerance level. It will be well worth my legal fees to see you held accountable for following the guidelines that you yourselves set for these contests.
I am ready to proceed, but will still wait until the end of the business day on Monday, as I am sure you are inundated with correspondence.
To reiterate, I am asking that the points removed from my account be replaced by Monday at the close of business. Ultimately, the only fair thing to do would be to replace them on everyone's account.
I will wait until that time to contact my lawyer, your advertising sponsors, and any of the thousands of disgruntled members of your site.

...and please everyone...don't think because of my ranting that they will offer less points. They make their money from advertisers. The more hits on the site that they can show, the more advertisers they get. To increase hits, they increase point earning opportunities. The site is growing daily, and as I read in a recent email from them, they have some new advertising opportunities.
They are still just going to consider me as some pissed off little peon, but I will follow through. The threat to suspend accounts was absolutely the last straw.
If you would, please start gathering info for me on anything to do with them not following through on their own guidelines. You don't even have to be able to prove it. The sheer number of people will in itself replace any actual proof we are missing.
If you are a member of another forum that includes pissed off P&P members, please post or pm and ask them to gather their own info. It could be just a paragraph about points they never received. If I am forced to follow through with this, which I am sure I will be, I need as much ammunition as possible. If you have copied and kept any correspondence with them or copied any of the guidelines that they have posted and not followed through on, etc.
Just hold on to anything you have for now. I will have to find out what format would be best to present it in after I talk to my lawyer.
Any other input you have, besides the fact that I'm insane, would be appreciated to.
How can you play GOD when you are not?
Are they? Did we as citizens elect them? No. And what gives them the right to play the roll when they are the farthest from perfect.
America has adopted a system called Social Services. Many of us know most of the programs but I am going to focus on the Child Protective and Abuse units. Together they should coincide. Unfortunate, they don’t.
I live in NY. I am well aware that systems differ from state to state and the one major flaw that I must point out is Sexual Offenders that are deemed in a “founded” case are not carried from State to State. To put it plainly if Joe molests 3 children in NY only NY has record of it from Social Services. It stays in NY permanetlety. So how then, is Joe stopped if he leaves the State? Obviously only if he is convicted in a Federal Court not a Family Court. So, for example Joe, is NEVER arrested for his crime but does have a founded child abuse case against him regarding molestation. Will anyone ever no if he leaves state? The answer is NO. That’s my first problem.
So we have these people in New York considered to work for Children in the DSS. I asked what there training was and this is going to knock your socks off. The one was a Criminal Justice major. Oh, boy? Are you telling me that this person has the right to deem a fit or unfit parent? Based on what? A checklist? Instinct? Unfortunelty, I have not found a one yet that has any type of degree in the Children Psychology field. Second Problem.
Now that I have established the lack of knowledge, I will move on. I live in a small rural town. You guessed it; everyone’s nose is up everyone’s hind end. Don’t you think that well investigating a child abuse case that someone hears something (known as hear say in a court of law) and uses THAT as judgment on a case? You betcha. I can give you proof but that would turn this article into one of my non-written books yet. You’ll have to trust me. So whether the information is right or wrong it still plays an effect on the “workers” mind and it still beyond all reasonable doubt has an effect on their judgment. Whether good or bad.
In my experience with myself and other people DSS workers must report on any phone call that is placed to the 1-800 Hotline in regards to it’s correctness. Just guess how much that is abused? I am not saying this is a bad thing. It does promote people calling who otherwise wouldn’t say anything to a truthful report but there are abusers. I am a victim of this. Repeatedly. I have experienced the DSS workers taken a likeness to specific people whether good or bad and making improper judgments.
I have known people who have been turned in to DSS and the reports have been unfounded when there were eyewitnesses to illegal marijuana smoking around children. I have also seen founded cases where there is no credible evidence. What standards are these people working on anyway? There own? Or are we back to the checklist again?
As a Parent, we all must realize that these DSS workers have the authority to place are children in Foster Care, look into Medical records, speak with relatives, and so on. They have the authority to violate are personal privacy on a whim. This can be good for a truly abused or neglected child but what about the children that are not? What about the parent’s who are guilty of nothing yet are nit picked for CHOOSING to spank their children. Who draws the line of abuse? The DSS. After what I have said already, should they be? That’s a question you have to answer for yourself.
I am going to now share a personal example with you. Various DSS workers have interviewed my child, who has PTSD, numerous times. She is now so frightened because she has to bring up the trauma that her symptoms become severally worse and it hinders that part of her childhood. In my case, this is a major example of SYSTEM FALURE. Her therapists have all told me she is not supposed to be directly question regarding the trauma. They still do and have they ever founded a case against the perpetrator of the trauma. NO. Again, another problem with the system. If a child is mentally disturbed it should be a group of people working on it together. Not just DSS workers without formal training.
Some of the DSS workers who are there obviously have experience with cases and children. In my experience again, there are usually only 2 working on a case and if the child really is being abused how can they prove it? If they aren’t’ how can they say the child is? Give me a break two people alone deciding the fate of a child. What a major societal problem.
The fact remains that these children, abused or not our are future. Let’s take a step beyond. How are these children going to turn out in the end if only two people decided they fate with lack of appropriate training and imperfections. The solution, possible a board, more regulations, and better education. Unfortunate, we need people to push, and we need people to reopen wounds. Best of all we need proof that something is wrong and unfortunate to many people are stitched at the mouth.
My point, I think that prolonging action is detrimental to our children, and they are our future. Let’s stop blaming the violence on the TV and the games and look deeper. Maybe a solution is in the palm of our hands and we are to “busy” to start punching. God is the only one known as “perfect” and what gives these people the right?
