Has anyone received funny looks from people in a store..?

I FINALLY saw someone else with a coupon binder in Walmart! I was so happy I had to go up to her and talk with her for a minute. I don't feel so alone anymore.

i have definitely gotten looks from people. customers and cashiers. i find it really annoying. but i try not to look at the people behind me. lol

I find it's hit and miss with cashiers. The other day at Walmart the cashier said "oh..50 cents huh." Except it's not 50 cent. It's hudnreds of dollars when you add it all together.

PS. I have a coupon binder too...I had to buy a bigger purse to bring it with me EVERYWHERE!!!

Most of the cashiers where I shop know that I will be using coupons. I have had many of them compliment me on my good deals. I even had one ask where she could get one of the coupons I was using because it was such a good buy. I have NEVER seen anyone else using coupons in my city. It would be so awesome to fine another shopper with a coupon folder in her/his cart.

I have gotten some looks lately too and it makes me want to slow down if they are behind me and being rude. Fumble with my purse, take awhile to put wallet and coupons away. Organize my bags......if you are going to be rude I'm going to be slow

What I find humorous is that these stores we are shopping at, with their eyerolling cashiers, are pretty well known not to be paying their staff super high wages. I can only wonder why they don't figure this out for themselves to do (couponing) as it would make their paycheques go that much farther. I am fairly new to the stacking part of couponing, but have always used coupons previously. I find if you 'chat' up your cashier asking if they coupon and talk about how much money you can save, or ask if they have ever had an 'uber' couponer at their till etc, gets them loosened up. (most people love to talk about themselves)

You will always get miserable people that just don't want to talk to you but I have been finding that the minority.

That 'must be poor' comment the lady made to her daughter. I would have made a comment back 'I am not poor, just prefer to keep my money in my pocket'. BTW - She is certainly not teaching her daughter much sense when it comes to value of money.

I too have a binder for all my coupons, deal with really great cashiers ,not so nice shoppers. I love it when the cashiers announce OUTLOUD how much I saved and usually get surprised looks from the public. I love giving people spare coupons especially on discount day,it is amazing how many people don't use these or don't have a clue about it. Some are really happy,some are motionless.

well today i was at walmart and i was using coupons along with my mom and sis and my sister says, '' well at least we dont have hundreds of coupons'' and the cashier said yea you should have seen it yesterday, people were flocking in with their flyers from other stores" then the cashier behind us said, '' oh man i just had someone pricematch a whole bunch of things from no frills''
my cashier said, ''yea i'll be so happy when their dollar days is over''
I laughed and thought at least the cashiers know how to price match lol
Ive personally never done it, but its interesting to see what the cashiers say.

I had a charming woman behind me in Fortinos who rolled her eyes, and said really loudly in a whiny voice Oh a coupon lady, they really should have a cash for people without coupons etc

The cashier told her in no uncertain terms to use self check out where she didnt have to deal with anyone

i always get looks.im in a small town and everyone knows everyone and im the weird goth chick who they thought was in a phase but still dresses that way minus the black lipstick...yeah..add on to that now i am known as the "housewife who doesnt need to work because she gets payed to sit on her @ss but uses coupons".

one of my friends went with me once.i used a 1 dollar off two frenchs,but i also had a 2 dollar off frenchs as well,a 4 dollar off any gillette over 10 dollars.i had 30 dollars cash on me,and i wanted to wash my car that day but didnt want to have to take out another 20.i hate cash with a passion..so before we went in she was offering to pay for my car wash to drive her around that day..i said "no problem,these coupons will give me a car wash".she looked puzzled..

after i rang in my purchase of two frenchs products.i got relish and mustard and the gillette for my hubby,and a tomato for my sidedish.we were having hot dogs,anyhow,the coupons rang through and my total came to like 14 something as opposed to 20 something..i had my car wash...lol..she was like "wow.i would have never used two dollar coupons...but it does add up"

i get weird looks all the time.but i cant figure if it's how i dress in my snooty town,my coupons,or how "normal" my husband and child look.i dont care either way.if i can save money for today or for later every cent counts.

If anybody ever says this to you, just politely smile and say, "actually, I'm married to a man, not a house." Seriously, some of these terms really irk me....it's 2011!!!
