Everything I've been ordering that comes thru the government [like the poster of the prime minister, etc etc] always seem to come being shipped first class or expidiant.. I'm sure this is costing the government alot of money which can be used in other place like education or health care. I have no problems with waiting 4-8 weeks for my things lol.. I usually end up waiting...forgetting about it and being surprised later.. kinda like christmas!

Well not really... Canada Post is owned by the Government of Canada remember..

Wow fast delivery...ordered on the weekend, received today!

I didn't realize CANPAR was only delivering the calendars. I thought they were coming by regular mail.
I missed the first delivery and a notice was stuck on the mailbox that they will come back the next day and signature is required and that after the second attempt, the envelope will be sent back to sender.
So I waited and waited and ran to the front door when the doorbell rang, lol.
I really thought it was something important!

I didn't know that either and my calendars are now on their way back to Ontario...

Did anyone else receive a few phone calls from the government of canada? I thought it was weird because I got 2 hung up phone calls from the government the day I recieved th calander than never again o.O

Yes I received them, they aren't anything special though. But it is good that it is free! I ordered two and received them in 3 days by priority mail.

Doesn't mean its free for them to use Canada Post; they may not pay any markup costs, but the base costs associated (paying employees, paying for vehicles/planes that transport letters, etc) is still there. It does seem rather frivolous, but then if people weren't getting 'good service' from their government they wouldn't be quiet about it (rightfully so)

Isn't it great that we're all getting a free calendar, and tips on how to save money and how to avoid spending it unnecessarily? It's like getting two things in one! How SC!


Though I do agree that I would much rather have them send it through regular Canada Post than by expedited courier. It seems wasteful, which is rather ironic, giving the content of the calendar!

A stack of the calendars at the community information services site was seen today, so I obtained a copy for myself and for someone else. No courier charges!
