I'm a SDM noob. I was wondering what kind of things you will redeem your points for? I have a ton of points from shopping at the 20x events and I heard there will be a bonus redemption day coming up soon. I was reading the SDM terms and conditions page and it said I can't redeem the points for phone cards and bus tickets (which was my original intention). What kind of things do you guys redeem it for? And will I get the points for that?

I used my points to get a Wii and some Wii games.
Some people here use their points for groceries.
And no, you won't get optimum points when you redeem.

You get points if the product has automatic in store bonus points or you have a bonus points coupon. Give coupon before you say you want to pay with points.

I redeemed and used my points for groceries: bread, cooking oil, butter, milk, etc. Something that my family will use up for sure and something that SDM won't mark up too high.

Make sure you check expiry date. Otherwise, you might waste your points (money).

Not sure if this is the last redemption before xmas so I might want to let each kid go crazy and let them spend $100 each. DS usually buys gaming magazines and Archie comic books, and DD buys makeup, skin care. Stuff that don't go on sale.

I used my bonus redemptions last Christmas to get a bunch of gifts - Digital photo frames, little electronic items, cards, bath products, a couple of serving platters, some boxes of chocolates, and other things along those lines. I am hoping that the redemption weekend comes again before Christmas!!

Good tip about the bonus points coupons lol! That's what I always do. Especially when I redeem for Smashbox cosmetics as there are always lots of bp coupons. I just let her ring them up, hand her the coupons, and when she gives me the total I say "you know what, I think I'll redeem some points."

I usually get about 20,000 points back this way

Also, the last time I redeemed, I remember that I did not get the in store bonus points. It wasn't a big deal, it was only 1000 or so, but I figured it was just a fluke maybe.

Just wondering if people who have recently redeemed are still getting the in store bonus points?

I haven't done that recently. Remember the L'Oreal in store bp? Redeem points to get more points than you redeemed, lol?

Awesome, at this rate I'll be close to $200 in no time!!!!!!!!!!!! I think last year the bonus redemption was around November when I helped my mom redeem her $200, so much fun!!!!!!!! If they keep having a 20x every few weeks by the time Christmas rolls around I'll be having a blast shopping

Hopefully they'll have decent sale on the flyer. Not loving the flyer the last time they had 20x - ended up using a lot of my rain checks and buying clearance items.

According to my source, the last bonus redemption before Christmas was november 28-29. Although, the pattern this year has not been consistant with last year so, who knows?
