Honestly, I used to have 2 chihuahuas a few years ago, and they were ANGELS. YOu could leave a million dollar winning lottery ticket on the floor, and they wouldn't TOUCH it. They never did anything wrong. never even crossed their minds. Now this one is making up for it. lol

Barely...I can barely cope with a dog with this much energy. This is NOT what I had in mind. I wanted something little and quiet that would be happy with a 5 minute walk. This dog wouldn't be tired after a 5 hour walk. And he also has a habit of jumping and crashing into me which f's up my hip too. I've kicked him in the face, honestly, and he just keeps on doing his thing. But...I wouldn't have the heart to get rid of him. I don't think many people could handle this dog actually. I don't think it would be long before he ended up at the SPCA.

yeah, I don't know why chihuahuas have a reputation for being yappy and crazy? Mine weren't at all. It's those terriers you gotta watch out for.
Leo was supposed to be 3/4 chihuahua. Other puppies from his litter looked like 100% chihuahua. He seems to have gotten the monopoly on the terrier genes. But it's hard to tell when you're picking one from the litter and they are all little blobs that look the same. The runt was crippled. Leo probably broke the poor thing's legs by jumping on it incessantly lolLast edited by annedougherty; Mon, Nov 22nd, 2010 at 05:11 PM.

Yeah, the sad this is that the SPCA there actually rescue from other SPCAs and a lot of southern US ones, and since they prefer big dogs, the smaller ones get brought up here. The cutesy ones get adopted right away and the terriers (with the exception of yorkies, they get adopted fairly quickly) and beagles end up staying forever.
