But I have to share a brag from New Year's Eve! I ran into Walmart to grab a few things and decided to check out the game section since I had a $10 off board games coupon. I found 2 games clearanced for $10 and $9.93 but I only had one coupon so I had to chose. I chose right because when I got up to the till it rang through at $16. I told the clerk that she could just give me back that coupon since I would be getting the game free anyway!! Of course, she disagreed and called a manager but in the end I went back in and got the other game, too!!!
I almost did a little happy dance right there!

Most Wal-mart employees do not know the SCOP rule. I wonder why they don't, should that not be part of their training.

I guess I had the same feeling after the walmart I go always gave me trouble with my coupons. Anyways I went to Ajax, ON Walmart, My sis and I bought Mr. Clean wipes which were on sale for $2/each and it rang at $2.97, Most of the time I notice this things but that day My sis noticed it so we went to return and the person who was there was Asst. Manager, she gave one free and the other one for $2, I was so overjoyed by this and told her this is the first time some one gave us with out any arguments.

I don't think it's part of their training because they don't want their employees to know! One store I worked at did practice SCOP but we were never allowed to tell the customer unless they asked and most of the cashiers didn't even know what it was. I thought that was pretty ridiculous so I ended up telling the other cashiers how it worked lol

I remembered someone's really good advice to get milk at SDM because it's always usually cheaper than other places. So I bought a $25 GC when I went in. I usually have my Optimum Card out but as she was ringing it through, I said, {"Oh I've got my Optimum Card, too." She said, "We don't give points on cards." I replied, "Yes you do, if it's a SDM card." She said, "I think they changed that." (I thought, "oh shoot, maybe a new year rule!" But I said, "Let's just try it." She said, "I don't think I'm supposed to do that - It won't show up" But she did swipe it. Then she said, "We were told not to do that because that's not right because, you'll get the points and the person you're giving the card will also get them too when they spend it." I said, " Yep, it's always been that way."
Then I went off to get the milk and then remembered that I had a Lever $1 off coupon. I checked the shelf - there was 1 pack of 4 left but the tag said, $5.something. I asked one of the workers to scan it form me and it did come up for $1.69.
When I went back to the till I avoided Ms "I-think -I-own-SDM-so-I'm-going-to-apply-rules-of-my-own."
Tell me that they are not actually thinking of changing this. (Although I could understand why from their point of view.)

Great job! I've got to learn more about SCOP. Not sure I'd be brave enough to fight a cashier for it... but my wife sure would be!
