Anyone ever feel like we're counting cards to beat the house?

I was at RCSS this evening, and they had all their Christmas candy on for 75% off... not a lot left.As much as he won't admit it, my husband likes getting boxes of chocolates for Valentine's day. I always get him other gifts, too.

I found a box of Lindor truffles in a pretty gold box with a red bow, as well as a beautiful gold box of President's Choice chocolates. They don't expire until the end of April, and they were on clearance for $2.50 each.

Is it bad that I'm not doing what I'm "supposed" to be doing? I think people are expected to buy Valentine's day stock for Valentine's day... Yet nothing about these two boxes of chocolates seems Christmas related.

Funny that all the Valentine's Day chocolates were on display ten feet away at full price.

All the way home, I felt gleeful and slightly subversive...

Excellent! - I always buy post Christmas chocolate for Valentine's day - you can always get really nice packages for a fraction of the price. - Then after Valentine's Day I buy chocolate for Easter - yum! but cheap!

Nothing wrong with this at all - it's smart shopping!

Just another hint, when my son was in elementary school, I'd buy Christmas clearance bags of Hershey's kisses - in the green, red, silver, and gold foil. Then I'd separate them by colour - I'd divide out the silver and red ones, to use for Valentine's Day, and the green and gold ones to use for St. Patrick's Day. I always had a stash so I could use them to include with his friends' Valentine Day cards, or with treats for school.

Your not cheap at all. I do this too! I always buy after for the next "holiday"-per say. Last Halloween I found some Kinder eggs for 75% off. I took them out of the Halloween packaging and guess what one of the things in my kids' stockings were.

Personally, chocolates are chocolates. I don't care what kind of wrappers/boxes they come in as long as they smooth and creamy. Yum! And if I can get them on sale that makes the chocolates taste even sweeter!!

WTG! Chocolate is Chocolate & why pay full price (bad word on SC,lol).
You could add Valentine stickers to dress them up, lol

My RCSS had a shopping cart almost full of Dove purse packs $1.29 on for 50% , I picked up a bunch for Valentines Day! (I'll just peel off the pink stickers, haha)
