Hi, I am confused??? as since this is the first year that I hardly work and when I filed my tax it prompts me that I may be able to get WITB so I applied for it but when I check my CRA online it said I didnt apply for it? Do I usually get a seperate letter for WITB if I'm qualify or not? or I get a notice with the assessment???please help...thanks in advance

Someone I know applied for it , when he filed his return and was eligible. When he got his IT refund the WITB was also deposited along with it. So his notice of assessment shows both amounts on it, his regular refund and WITB .

Looks like you applied for it , but it did nt go through properly so its showing that you never applied. Call them , they are pretty helpful and will tell you what the status is.

WITB has a separate form you have to print out and file if you want advanced payments. You have until Aug to get the form in, if your choosing to have advanced payments through the year.

I apparently got a GST cheque in the mail today...I thought everything was being rolled into that trillium benefit thing or is that separate and I will get another cheque later for the trillium? I'm so confused :/

RoseofBlack-you are correct about all of the Ontario tax credits being rolled into a monthly amount (Ontario Trillium Benefit or OTB).

HST cheque is federal, so it is sent separately from the OTB amount.

I updated my passbook to verify that OTB got deposited. Had to refrain from withdrawing the money because the bank would make an extra $1 fee from me for July. Will wait until August's OTB amount comes in then do a withdrawal.

yay free money twice this month! I like that It's not a ton of money but at least it pays for my groceries this month and I can save a bit more money.

not sure about anyone else but hubby received another cheque today. maybe thats why this was bumped as another amount was issued.
