I went to the Ottawa Humane Society on Wednesday and picked up a very special little girl, her name is Petra and she's the sweetest little kitten. They determined that she was 7 months old, so I got her for the adult rate which is 150$, vs. the kitten rate of 220$.
All said and done, I got her, a scoop and an enclosed litter box for 195$.
However we think she's actually much younger than 7 months, and I'm taking her to the vet on Tuesday to get checked so she can play with the other kitten and puppy here.
Also, I had bought her a "lovebucket" bed, but she didn't like it, returned it and got my 40$ back...turns out she likes to sleep on my old memory foam pillow :D so free bed!
Lastly, since my roommate is super paranoid and wants to put her kitten on Holisitic Select kitten food, she sold me her almost full bag of Performatrin Kitten food for 10$ (retails 24$). YAY so many savings.
Pics to come! Just don't know where my camera is!
Update: Pictures!

Thanks :D also, I think total I've spent about 300$ on her, I won't be getting any coupon discounts on food because I refuse to give her anything less than Super Premium, so I'm kinda like my roommate in that, but the food I'm giving her is better quality, MADE in Ontario, and is actually cheaper than Iams or ProPlan :D
I had budgeted for 350$, roommate said I should budget for over 400$, so I think I did good:DLast edited by lekate; Fri, Jan 29th, 2010 at 06:17 PM.

Awesome! I'm going to have to start looking for deals on puppy stuff as we are picking up our new puppy tomorrow!
I am a "senior canuck" but have been away from the site for awhile.. Please be patient with me as I go through and re-learn the ins and outs, do's and don'ts once again.
. I look forward to chatting and trading with all of you

Pictures to come in moments...once my roommate is done his photoshoot with her! I'd say she's hamming it up, but mostly just reveling in all the attention since she's not allowed upstairs and we just watched a movie up there

Aww can't wait to see pictures of Petra.

I adopted a cat from the cambridge humane society (they sold them at the petsmart adoption centre) years back. They were pretty vague with the ages when we got her, between 3-5 years old, but she was sooo little. When we took her to get spayed (they covered part of that, we had to pay like $20) they asked if she was a couple of months. Now she is still kinda small, but more of a sausage cause she gained weight.
It's always nice to save a kitty, take her home, and make her yours. I'd adopt more but then I would be the crazy cat lady, we got another one 3 years ago or so too, she just appeared in our backyard and no one came to claim her.

Congrats on your new baby girl!!!!
We feed ours Performatrin. We did try their holistic line but they didn't seem to like it as much. They do just eat cheaper soft food, the don't seem to like Pet values food!
If their dishes are just down for them to eat whenever they are just going to eat each others food.

I was quickly scanning through your post, when I thought you said you got the cat and a SCOP! I had to go back and re-read more carefully, to find out you actually said *scoop*! Guess where my mind is at?? I couldn't figure out how you got a Scanning Code of Practice on the cat! LOL
And good for you for adopting a cat from the Humane Society! We've adopted 3 dogs from there over the years and been very happy with them. (But no SCOP's on them either! LOL)
