Yes, it's great, gives you a lot of additional points. Bonus points with your first purchase plus extra points every time you use it.

I've had the CC for about a year now and I have received from 500 pts to 30,000 pts per month just from the card. Extra pts is always good.
I earned $50 in Amazon Gift Cards in my first month at Swagbucks!!

It's great! I've been with them for more than a year, and I can't complain! The introductory bonus points offer was great, and this really adds on to purchasing SDM GCs with this credit card, as you earn 10 extra points for purchases made at SDM. So this is also good to purchase things that you don't usually get points on, like the lottery.

It is definately worth it! I get at least 3000 extra points each month, not to mention the extra points I get with all my purchases at shoppers. Every few months they mail you bonus point coupons with your monthy statement.

I also think it's worth it. It's 15 points for using the card at SDM, which I usually only use to get the GC, plus the 10 pts you get in store = 25 pts. 5 pts for other non-SDM charges.
I also like the coupons they send occasionally for bonus points when you buy X product and pay with the card.

I'm sure you all know this already, but just like all points cards, it's only worthwhile if you pay off the balance in full each and every month. If you're paying any interest, you're not getting the full benefit.
I don't know if the Optimum card has an annual fee, but you have to figure that in too. We have an RBC Platinum Avion that charges over $100 for an annual fee for us both, but it also covers the insurance on rental cars. Because we don't own a car, that alone makes it more than worth the $100 (that's about five days of insurance on a rental).
We also get a lot of gift cards from the points. So for us, a points card is worth it. But if we were carrying a balance, the 19% interest would quickly void any benefit.

I've been thinking about getting a Shopperss CC, too. Here's my math.
Getting a CC gives us additional 15pts per dollar spent at Shoppers, 5pts anywhere else.
Assuming we only redeem at the highest level on regular redemption day when 95,000pts = $200.00, 475pts are worth $1 at Shoppers.
Given that, to get 475pts by using Shoppers’ CC only, we need to spend roughly $31.67 at Shoppers, elsewhere would be $95.
Therefore, if we don't have a CC that gives cash back or cash equivalents greater than 1.05% constantly, go get a Shoppers' CC.
Of course, I assume we always pay balance in full.

A good theory, but IMO, don't do that. My DH used to do this too until I turned him in the right direction. That's what wives are for!
If you have the discipline for it (as in, don't spend it), keep your money in your own account (hopefully one that earns interest), until the last day possible to pay your credit card without getting an interest charge. Much better to earn some interest (even a few cents), instead of giving the CC company your money early.
For us, our CC bill is several thousand a month - we put EVERYTHING on it, from groceries to utilities, to get the points. A couple thousand dollars in an interest bearing account even for a few days longer can add up!
As I stated, just my opinion of course!

Hmm...what's everyone's opinion. I have a CC that collects airmiles and I use it as much as possible on purchases (paying it off each month). Is the SDM CC a better deal than airmiles?
