Thread: Gift Basket on a whim brag!
-
Thu, Dec 23rd, 2010, 07:00 PM #1
I don't have an exceptionally large stash of men's items anymore, I used most of it up for gift baskets and stocking stuffers. But when my dad came to me today and said "I'm going out to see Grandpa, you don't have anything from your stockpile you wanna add to his gift, do you?", I went into hyperdrive, and scuttled around the house picking out things to make him a little gift basket. I, for once, am so thankful my parents and I are on the brink of being hoarders, it really helps when you need to whip something up fast.
My "basket" is a tin with fishing stuff on the lid that my dad picked up from somewhere or other, that was just sitting in the garage begging to be used.
Inside the basket is all stuff that I've got stockpiled or already had.
1 x Febreze set and refresh.
1 x Oral B toothbrush
1 x Reunion Island Coffee pouch
1 x Irish Spring bar of soap
1 x Hydrasense Tissues
1 x Trial-Size Head and Shoulders
3 x Sparesource items; 1 hand cream and two sample pouches.
1 x Men's shampoo from shoppers' brand. Purchased for my dad, but he didn't like the scent.
1 x Old Spice Deodorant
1 x package (roll?) of Citrus Halls
1 x Christmas Cracker
and I included a banana bread loaf we had in the freezer, as well as a little plateful of all the Christmas treats we have.
I just went and showed my dad, and he said "well aren't you going to wrap it?" so I had to explain gift baskets to him
I feel so blessed to have become a part of the SC community and learned so much here. Not only how to stockpile, but how to throw something awesome together in no time. I hope that in the new year I'll have honed my skills and will be able to do big donations or donation baskets like others here do.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone, thank you for teaching me so much in so little time!
EDIT: A second brag in one day?
My mom and aunt just came home with 2 Flatbread Pizzas that they used my coupons on! Dinner for 5? $1.98!Last edited by Chantel; Thu, Dec 23rd, 2010 at 07:31 PM.

I love the way you used the Christmas cracker as an embellishment on the outside of your basket! Very nice.
