I have been urged by a co-worker/friend to post a brag, but since I see your story about Sobey's half price stuff I might just place it here. So it was like this, I went to Sobey's on the good advice of that aforementioned friend to check out the half priced Greenworks laundry soap.( which I have never really seen marked down low enough for my liking to use a coupon on) Anyways I figured at $4.99 with $3.00 off each bottle I would be making out o.k. DH ( who is always too embarrassed to come in when I do these things, waited in the van outside.
My greenworks coupons were expiring Dec 21, and Dec 31 so I grabbed 8 bottles.
The cashier scans the first bottle of laundry soap and OMG! the price came up as $2.50, then she took off one of my $3.00 off coupons, scanned the next bottle $2.49!! , along with the next $3.00 coupon. ( I am guessing that the sale price on the shelf of $4.99 was cut in half again at the checkout, sweet)
As the last bottle scanned , she looked up and realized their was a negative balance and of course they will never "give you $$ " for making a purchase so I quickly threw a bag of spicy Dorritto chips on the belt ( o.k. I panicked, I didn't even want the chips ) She scans them, removes the last coupon and says " that will be .24 cents please" Are you serious?? I mean the regular price was $8.99 per bottle, times 8 is around $72.00, then tax and those chips. Imagine paying all that instead of 24 cents? Crazy eh?
As I was walking to the van DH gets out to assist me and I scream " start the car!, start the car". We lol all the way home. The little things in life are really what makes us smile and get through another day. Thanks for listening everyone, and thank you Theresa for phoning me to tell me Sobeys had the soap on sale.

Free*is*best
The follow up to the story is the friend at work I speak about and myself have been "working on" the young Dad's for months ( giving them coupons, showing them the ropes) to be smart shoppers and score brownie points with their wives at home.
Well one guy after hearing the Sobeys story asked for a copy of my receipt to show his wife to prove that we were not making this stuff up. I happily gave him the receipt. Made my day.
