Actually I have already started. I am donating fresh fruit to the lunch program at my son's school. They get all kinds of boxed snacks but nothing fresh. I have been buying cases of fruit at Sami Fruit and it's been about $15 a week so far. I get a case of 40lbs of bananas for $14 and when we went apple picking I gave them a 50lb box of apples. We'll see how it goes during the winter when fruits are more expensive but I may start a new thread for 2012 lol.

Oh this is so nice.
It is for something like "Le club des petits déjeunés du Québec"? I may do something similar, the school here have that program. My DDs don't go there, we have enough food here and I don't want to take the place of a kid who really need it.
My hubby work as teacher at "secondaire" (high school) and one year the group he was having a class of "adaptation scolaire", (so just one group of 15 kids for him) and alot of the kids was not having lunch, didn't breakfast very often. There cannot listening him, they were starving. At least, once a week, he was buying a bag of apple for his class. The kids who need food were so happy to eat those apples.Liberty of one finish where liberty of the other one start

So far the kids have been really happy. The guy at Sami fruit gives me a little extra special price sometimes because he knows it's for the school, so 1 or 2 dollars off it helps.
They get their food donated from the Generations Foundation.
They are having their xmas fundraiser at La Stanza Buffet on Jean Talon on Friday from 6 -10 am I am taking the kids because they both have the day off.

Wow, I had no idea this project (or section) existed. Your generosity is amazing and inspiring... people like you DO make this world a better place. Thank you for that.
I can't fathom the amount of lives you'd touch if the new Target stores would allow stacking
