I've been on a weight loss program for nearly a year, and I've lost about 48lbs. I need to continue my progress, and even kick it into a higher gear.
Soooo...my new year's resolution is to follow a "Recovery Checklist" that is used in drug rehab, that a friend uses. It's really great, in that it includes items like "open and honest", "shared feelings", etc. which I think is going to be good for the emotional eater/feeder in me.
One of the items is "healthy self-reward".
Can you brainstorm some ideas for what that might look like?
On the 1st, I had a bubble bath and read a magazine
Today (notice I skipped the 2nd
) I bought a package of Splenda Flavours for Coffee - - I love the Hazelnut so much....but they are soooo expensive, I never treat myself to a box. (Yes, I had a coupon! LOL)
Any ideas? Expecially ideas that don't cost money?? What would you consider a reward? This thread is currently associated with: N/A

What about buying some food that you normally wouldn't buy (fresh pacific salmon, duck, nice cut of beef, etc) - something fancy that you could still cook at home.

do you have a bf or dh? get them to give you a nice massage
watch a romance movie with non buttered/salted popcorn
use an exfoliating scrub in the shower and body butter after you dry off
give yourself a make over with a look you haven't tried before
make yourself a foot bath with epsom salts
most importantly, day dream about what you will look like when you reach your goal weight"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than You." - Dr. Seuss

Also appreciate the small things you can do now & recognize how great an accomplishment you have made.
I would look at my hips in the tub and see how much room I had on the sides
Or take time to actually look at myself in the mirror.
When I lost a size I would go & try on clothing that I could now wear - wouldn't buy it, but knew I could wear it!
Go for a walk in the snow with your camera & remember how hard this would have been not so long ago & that YOU have brought you this far.
Take the time to pamper yourself EVERYDAY.
Start a new habit - a few minutes of meditation or quiet time just for you.
If you like a particular sport or activity - start doing it or join a group
