We also use a covered little box with just the door opening and noticed a couple of months ago the smell was always there so I replaced the filter in the top of the box and voila it's 100% better, I now know why they say to change the filter every few months, lol....Does your litterbox have a filter in the top of the cover?

I put dryer sheets in mine where the filter should go, that seems to help.
As for litter, I have tried many different brands. The best for my three cats (and two litter boxes) is the max cat small spaces.
I also like the canadian tire brand stuff, I find that works pretty well.
I do not like the sobeys brand or shoppers drug mart brand or arm and hammer.
I really like the pine stuff (hubby didn;t he felt it really smelled while I never noticed it) but it stuck to their feet and they tracked the litter everywhere.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:

I used enviro-litter, its a pine pellet form of cat litter and both my cats like it.
Their urine usually breaks down the pellets into dusty form so it needs to be changed 2 times a week usually which is normal.
Just thought id mention that clay litters are VERY bad for cat's health.
The chemicals they are breathing in are hazardous and can cause kidney problems over an extended period of time.
Not only that but sometimes litter can get stuck in their paws and when they go to get it out they can swallow the pieces unintentionally.
Id highly reccomend switching over to a non clay based litter, whether it be a corn based one or a pine based one.
(also, with the pine litter the pine oils have been removed so its not dangerous as all for them

i use maxx small spaces, love it, i also have several litter boxes (should have one per cat) i have the roll n' clean litter boxes (2 of them) and as i just bought the roll n' clean, i also have my original 2 litter boxes on the go... i sometimes add a litter box deodorizer (fresh and clean)... and in the filter spot i either use a dryer sheet, or a febreze lumanarie
i love love love the roll n' clean best litter box ever! i hated scooping the litter, was my least fave thing to do (rather change a poo explosion diaper tbh) and litaliry i just roll the box around
here is a link about it

canadian tire sells them for sure (its where i got mine, and thanks to ct $ i didn't pay anything for them) i believe they are $24 ish non sale price, but imo well wirth the cost (i got them on sale tho)

Such good info, Thank you all!! Lady, is that thing ever neat lol, I've never seen one before. Thanks for letting me know. Will check them out at ct next time I'm in.
I had 2 litter boxes but they kept using just the one, no clue why. Maybe cause it was seasoned lol.LF: $ 4.00 off any covergirl, 2.00 axe,RLF ARMSTRONG cheese, black diamond, 3.00 gain. 2.00 Majesta. Have 5.00 walmart gc.
