My brother is currently doing an apprenticeship as a welder and ran into a bit of trouble. He lives by himself in an apartment and pays his bills completely by himself, which trying to pay off a huge student loan bill. His fuel pump on his truck quit today on a major highway and he had to pay over $100 for the towing and the part will be about $500. He was feeling pretty down about it and I felt so sorry for him

I went to my favourite Walmart where their policy is to take full value off regardless of the product price. I wanted to help him out a bit. This is what I got:

    8 X glade ultra - 8 X $2 coupons
    1 X glade plugin - $2 coupon
    1 X hamburger helper - 50 cent coupon
    2 X sidekicks - $1 coupon
    1 X cavendish french fries
    1 X milk
    2 X mr. noodles
    2 X thinsations - BOGO
    4 X puggs minis - 4 x $1 coupons
    1 X taco kit - $1 coupon

OOP = $1.13, all of which was tax. My subtotal way -$0.05

I left the stuff at his apartment and can't wait to see what he says when he calls me after he sees the stuff on his table and in his fridge. Made me feel so good. You can make a huge difference for a little price!

That's great! All stores really should just take the full value of coupons -- they get reimbursed the full value, what do they care?

yes they should. The assistant manager I was talking to said they get back the full $2 and it would be fraud if they did not. So makes you think about the stores that don't take full value and dont write anything on the coupon either

Awe that's so sweet of you! I'm sure he'll appreciate it immensely! ALL stores should take off the full amount of the coupon regardless of the price because I've only ever seen 1 person put the amount on the coupon that I paid for an item. And there's been MANY times that they have knocked the coupon down but haven't written it on it.

I'm pretty sure that even if they write down a different value, they probably just get reimbursed for the full amount. My guess is that unless it's a FPC where a cashier has to write down a value, they just scan the coupons in (why else would there be a bar code??) and don't look to see if someone's written anything on them.

You are so nice. That is so sweet and where is that awesome Walmart. All store should be that great.-- They get the whole value of the coupon even when they adjust for the overage.
