Expired gas offer

I purchased 3 boxes of Frosted Flakes tonight for the free $5 gas card offer and the offer expired on December 31st, 2010 I'll be contacting Kellogg's on Monday but I wanted to give a heads up to anyone else who may see this offer and like me did not have time to flip the box and read all of the fine print. Sorry if my first post seemed a little harsh, I'm really annoyed with this right now. Hopefully everyone else has taken the time to read the box first before buying and didn't end up with 3 dud boxes like I did

I don't think the store would care unless the food is expired (regardless of the promotion the store bought the cereal already and must sell it). I'd contact Kellogg's. Maybe mention that promo's should have a longer expiry for the stores that don't sell out of all the stock.

I still don't understand the 'compensate me' attitude. The date was on the box. You didn't check. Caveat emptor.

I think if you contact Kellogs, and show them some proof, then they might reimburse you with the three gas cards.

I don't understand why they would keep these on the shelves with a teeny tiny date on them on the back at the very bottom, do they have to compensate me for anything certainly not but it's kind of upsetting to buy this cereal because of that coupon to find it is expired. So let me rephrase my first post, I am upset that I bought 3 boxes of cereal because the front of the box states that this offer is available but the store is selling boxes with expired offers..... still pretty annoying and upsetting. I think if they are going to keep selling it they could at least put a sign up or something stating that it is no longer available. I don't know about you but when I'm shopping with two young kids in tow I don't have time to sit and read the back of every single box and I don't expect stores to sell cereal with expired offers. I guess I'm the minority.

I'm going to call them directly on Monday to let them know that these boxes are still in circulation and perhaps they should extend the offers so that the stores can clear out their stock. If they do offer the gift card then great I would be tickled pink, if not then I did still get the cereal at a pretty good bargain. I'm just annoyed to find out once I get home and get all excited to cut out the coupons that they are expired. Guess it was a very good lesson in read everything when they offer something very well before buying it and if I don't have the time then not to bother buying it at all.
