OFFICIAL weekend of the 27/28 - what did the cashier say to you BRAG thread

Okay - we all had really nice, really stupid, and/or really weird things said to us at the check-outs this weekend. Let's organize it all into one tidy little thread, sit back and LOL!!!

I'll get it started.

I traded to get 10 more Egg Creations $1 off coupons, so to take a break from writing horrible essays for school, it was off to Walmart to PM the No Frills flyer.

She: "The coupon says one per customer"
Me: "It's okay with me if you'd like to do them one at a time"

(I guess she didn't, 'cuz she kept going until she had 3 or 4 of them in, then called for a manager)

She: "Is this okay? Can she price match AND use a coupon?"
CM: "yes"
She: "But they will be free!"
CM: "yes"
ME: "Not only is it okay, it freaking ROCKS!!!!"

Hubby and I giggled all the way to the parking lot. We're egg bandits!!

The coupon does say one per customer. So basically you can use one only.

This is true. But what you can do then is ask them to put each item in seperately. Of course, this takes forever, so most cashiers will put the same coupons in at the same time. (depending on the cashier of course)

I went into CT when they had the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser's on sale for $1.00. My sister and I were using the "buy any 2 (two) Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and save $1.00."
So we picked up a bunch of the single packs and went to the cash. The cshier said you can't do that because it says you have to buy 2 (two) packs. I said, NOOO.. it says that for people who can't read well... Then she called her manager... and he said... well... It does have a picture of a 2 pack on the coupon... I responded... It could have a picture of an elephant on it, that DOESN'T mean I have to buy an elephant!!!!!!!!

He let me have them..!!!

My cashier at SDM must have been new, because she didn't know the coupon code for a FPC, I told her it was different from the $ off coupon and code, and she was all "how did you know that, have you worked for Shoppers before?" *me thinking to myself....noo noo, I've just followed SC enough to know this!*

LOL Nancy. I had two cashiers comment on what great deals I was getting.

One RCSS cashier gave me trouble about the old spice coupon but she called the manager over and I got my deal

I was wondering how everyone was getting 10x or more eg creations when the coupon says 1 per costumer. I dont think I would have the nerve to try getting away with that lol.

I just hand them my fistfull of coupons, smile and say 'I'm just learning how to shop'... I usually get the response, "I wish someone would teach me! I cut coupons. Then they expire" So far... I've had very good luck.

I went over my coupon limit at no frills, wal-mart and RCSS this weekend...The CS from RCSS said wow, you have a lot of these pringles coupons (I had 13 left and by the jeedas I was gonna use em') I just replied I have been saving them for a sale just like this...and she stopped and checked the total and said,
"You are getting them for twenty four cents a can" and I said " I know, its good to be me!!!!"

NancyRose and I should go shopping together, we would drive the cashiers nuts with our comebacks *giggle*

RCSS didin't have much of a selection of the old spice, so I will try and PM Walmart.

A quick question though,

Do you do that at the til? or at Customer Service...before or after you have picked them out???

Didn`t get much reaction from my cashier at RCSS today...I just asked her if she wanted the coupons as she rang them in or at the end...I put the coupons with each product & for FPC`s & BOGO she wrote on the coupon the amount & then did all the coupons at the end...another cashier was kind enough to bag all the stuff for me!
Then I asked if I get the $25 PC GC as my total before coupons was $386! Shock! & she wasn`t sure because of all the coupons I had & called someone on the phone & they said YES! Plus I got a $8 gas coupon, haha
Ended up paying $150 oop!

At NF a few days ago the cashier was amazed at all the FREE stuff I got (egg creations, tetley tea, DentaStiks)...I said yes it pays to use coupons! hehe

I was turned down at SDM for the Everpure trial size set $8 when I tried to use the flyer coupon $10off (the one with no size, expiry date)...She said we can`t do it as coupon is more than the product! I said yes you can just adjust the price but she would not do it, so I said fine I`ll go to the SDM in Wburg as they did it for my SIL, LOL

I went to NF today and bought 3 Egg Creations...

Cashier looks at my mom & I: You can't use these today, they are on sale. It'll be free then.
Me: So?
Her: I don't think you can get free products.
Me: I'm pretty sure you can, with a slight attitude
Her: Let me ask my supervisor. She calls her over and TELLS the supervisor how they shouldn't use the coupon because the item would be free.
Supervisor: That's fine, but it's one per customer but it's okay for now.

I don't think it matters because once their coupons head to their office upstairs they are all mixed together. It's not like they are going to look and see if 2 egeations were used in the SAME order. They just see -1.00 Manf. Coupon twice on the receipt, they don't know what the coupon was from. I'm pretty sure lots of customers bought that product without coupons, so it evens out...
