Postal Services at SDM

I have heard a rumour that SDM charges more to send packages than the post office.

My mom's friend had two identical packages. One that was shipped immediately at the Post Office. The second package was shipped a couple of days later at SDM. The SDM packages was 2-3$ more.

It could be that the person at one post office mis-charged her. Or another theory is that SDM has a surcharge for shipping out of their store.

Anyone have this experience?

Nope, I go to Rexall usually.

everything is computerized so there is no way to overcharge...there was an email going around last year like that and it turned out to be fake for that reason.
Every post office uses the same computerized system and it's all the same rates. No way to charge more or less than another post office because of the way it's set up.

Yup, SDM has no control over shipping prices. The outlets at SDM are Canada Post-run. Only the employees are not employed by Canada Post. Prices should always be the same. Maybe your mom's friend got charged for the insurance on one of the packages but they didn't ask her if she wanted to opt in/out for it?
