When I was 18 I managed a midnight shift in a factory and I had to fire this useless temp worker who was 10 years older than me and thought it was rediculous that I was the manager in the first place because of my age. She was a nice girl but just could not do even the simplest jobs that we had 16 year old high school kids doing in the summers. She cried when I fired her and I felt bad but I had to explain to her that if my workers aren't putting the numbers out then it's my ass and as the first 18 year old manager in the factory I wasn't about to put myself in that situation. The next day I got someone in 5 years younger and he worked 10 times as hard in an hour as this girl had her whole 8 hour shift. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices even when they're the nicest people in the world
