Has anyone else noticed that Zellers is now charging 5 cents per plastic bag here in BC or is it just my specific Zellers?

i havent been asked yet.. i'm assumeing they will ask before they automatically charge you for the bag..
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

Maybe it's all Zellers that are now implementing this then... I was very surprised too, since I hadn't heard anything about it (I must have missed the notice about this).
I wouldn't even have known if the guy in front of me hadn't asked for a bag for his box of dishes that he bought and then she said that a bag would cost 5 cents. And then with me she was just piling my items in a stack for me to carry when I said I'll be needing a bag... So I'm sure they wouldn't just charge you for a bag without asking first (you'd hope anyway
)

They will just charge you. The man in front of me was asked if he wanted a bag, he said yes, thenhe asked why she just charged him for it and she said she was only supposed to ask if he wanted a bag and not ask if he wants to purchase one. They started arguing, I walked away.

They are also charging for bags here in North Bay, knew it wouldn`t be long before they started. I wonder how long till Walmart will start charging for bags.

It's the way of things to come! I have a cute little bag holder that I carry in my purse that one of my friends gave me. It holds 3 bags. Also carry some in the car, etc. Seems like a lot of places charge now!
When we were in Louisiana last month, I was shocked that NO ONE was using reusable bags!
I was telling my mom about it when I got back, and she said when they were in the UK in the early 90s everyone was doing the reusable bag thing. We're just catching up!
