I ended up getting a $40.00 digital ear thermometer which was sale priced at $20.00 but scanned wrong. Got the item for $10.00. Once customer service clerk told me the $10 only comes off the regular price. I insisted on speaking to the manager, and he told me the clerk was wrong and the $10 comes off the sales price. I find store personel will sometimes read the code in their favour, but if you are not satisfied, speak to the manager or call the complaint line.

I did my first SCOP at Rexall yesterday. I bought a few Revlon lipglosses on Friday that were all 30% off but i didn't notice until i got home that i was charged full price for one. So i went back yesterday to show them and then asked "Don't i get it free since its under $10 and it scanned wrong?" so the cashier refunded me back on my debit and i go the lipgloss for free! Whats more shocking to me is that i failed to catch it when it was scanned as i was watching the prices of my other items!

Thank you so much! I just posted a question surrounding this exact thing about Zellers. I did not know it was voluntary. When the CS rep told me "Zellers chooses not to participate" it sounded really silly to me. I still don't like it, but i get it now at least lol.

Today was my first opportunity to take advantage of the scanning code of practice. I was in superstore today and the potatoes I bought rang in at 3.99 the price above the skid was 3.49. When I asked the cashier about it she called produce for a price check and could not get a straight answer so she said "I'll just give it to you for the lower price." I do know that I was not mistaken about the price so I told her to scop it. She got very angry with me and basically told me she was doing me a favor as she "knows" that these potatoes could not be 3.49 (PEI white potatoes 10lbs). There was a line forming behind me but she called her manager over and basically said that I'm insisting on a free bag of potatoes. They gave it to me and I had never really argued just told the cashier it should be free but she makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. When I used to be a cashier, the customer never had to ask me. They would tell me the item scanned wrong and I would give them the free product.

I did this today on a $1 item at walmart hahaha almost seems not worth my time, but it came up at $3, and was clearly marked $1. A penny saved is a penny earned, right? haha
