Is there any HBC point if u bring your own bag ?

I was soo angry the other day, there was no sign at the store in courtenay about the new bag charge, she never asked me if i wanted a bag either, she just packed my stuff in one and charged me. I noticed on my receipt as I was walking out, went back, handed her the bag, and said "I didn't agree to buy a bag, I would like my 5 cents back" lol.

I think its pretty offensive that they changed their policy and have NO sign. and then to top it off, they shouldn't just give you a bag without asking.

I usually bring my own bag, but I didn't this time because I was visiting my mom and I walked on the ferry to get there, so I had to travel light.

i am so glad i read this thread! i use my own shopping bags everywhere i go, and i shop at The Bay/Zellers a lot. i don't think i've ever got the points.

(my thoughts are this - if every canadian used just ONE less plastic shopping bag a week, that would 120,000,000 less in landfill in one month. that's a lot of plastic.)

i have one of the nylonish (?) bags that fold up into nothing in my purse at all times, handy! (here in toronto every store has to charge 5 cents for a plastic bag - we adapted pretty fast, i must say!)

what??!! for real.. all this time and I had no idea. I know there is a discount on their restaurant and on household.. but didn't see it refer to cosmetics. All this money I could of been trading, I spend a lot on mac.

Can I combine with the $10 bay cosmetics coupon do you think?

Oh. I thought the whole Bay store was useable with SPC... I buy clothes for my daughter... use SPC... hmm. lol

You receive 1000 bonus points when you purchase one of Zeller's reuseable bags and 100 bonus points when you use the bag. Maximum of 500 bonus points per transaction.

The Zellers in my city has signs on the register counter for the 5 cent bag charge.

zellers where i shop had it posted for the last month about the 5 cent bag, i have used my own bags for months now, recieved the 100 points most every time, missed a few times the cashier did.

Zeller's has their own bags, i was pointed to it by the cashier who mention they had them for a year now! REALLY? Never notice until today...(the colour if i remember right is like a lime green colour)

Zellers has Global Mind cream coloured bags too.I have used the same Global Mind cream coloured bag for over 2 years and still not worn out.

i usually bring my own bag, but never saw any extra points...i guess i better take a closer look and remind the cashier

They will only give you the 100 points if you use their bag. If you bring any other reusable bags, you will not get points. I was told this by the cashier, and I phoned later and asked Customer Service, and they told me the same thing.
